Buy original at the 2011 Crocs Megasale at the NBC Tent (June 9-12 only)

Posted in Other News, Others, Sponsored Posts

While most people are busy shopping for Crocs, not everyone knows that part of the proceeds goes to Habitat for Humanity Philippines (HFHP), a non-profit Christian ministry working to help build responsible and self-reliant communities by enabling Filipino families in need to acquire affordable, decent, and durable homes. The P180,000 donation will be sufficient to build 2 homes for the less fortunate.

This is the first time Crocs has chosen a non-profit organization to benefit from their yearly Megasale event. According to Crocs, they will be doing this yearly now. So the next time you buy a pair of expensive Crocs, at least now you know that they donate part of their profits to give back to the community.

The 2011 Crocs Megsale is currently happening at the NBC Tent near Bonifacio High Street in Taguig. The Crocs Megasale will run from June 9-12 only, 10:00am to 8:00pm. You can get anywhere from 30% to as much as 90% off on selected Crocs models.

AKTV Run to kick-off new TV5 sports block on June 5

Posted in Other News, Others

Volleyball is my way of life or something to that tune was what Fille Cainglet was saying in her AKTV teaser video. Lady Eagle Cainglet is one of the many sports celebrity-endorsers for the upcoming AKTV, the all-new prime time sports block that will air a wide range of local and international sports events. She’ll be joining the AKTV Run event along with the other endorsers I suppose.

How to measure your vertical leap in volleyball

Posted in Volleyball Facts

Someone sent an email to Spikeithard.com and asks:

Does anyone know how high the vertical leap of Fille Cainglet, Ella de Jesus, and Bea Pascual of Ateneo Women’s Volleyball team are? I have seen various pictures showing their heads over the volleyball net (unless it’s just because of the camera angle). If the UAAP and Shakey’s V-League women’s volleyball net is 7 feet, 5 inches high, and let’s say these female volleyball players are about 5 feet, 5 inches tall on the average, then this means their vertical leap is about 24-30 inches (or 2 feet, 6 inches). Or at most about 3 feet vertical leap! Am I correct in these assumptions? Are there actual measurements done as to their vertical leaps? Thanks for your inputs.

How to measure your vertical leap in volleyball?

Vertical leap or jump is a measure of how high you can elevate off the ground (or jump) from either from a standstill or running approach. We all know that being able to jump high is a big advantage if you’re a volleyball player. You need to jump when you spike the ball, you jump as well as when you block. There are two vertical jumps in volleyball: block jump and approach jump.
