Michelle: All our competitions are decided by our coach so I really don’t know his plans.
De La Salle has always been one of the top teams in the UAAP and the Shakey’s V-League. Tell us about your school’s sports program. What separates your school from the other top schools?
Michelle: If you want to be on top you have to work for it. What makes our team different is that not only do we train hard, work hard, study hard and sacrifice a lot, we also pray together as a team. We always make it a point that in everything we do, we don’t forget God.
Tell us about your pastime and hobbies. Do you have a day job? What keeps you busy nowadays?
Michelle: What keeps me busy is training and school 🙂 It takes up so much of my time that you rarely have time for other things really. I still hang out with my friends and loved ones and still get to go home on weekends 🙂
What do most people do not know about you?
Michelle: I don’t really know. I’ve seen all the fan and hater pages in Facebook so I guess everyone has their own opinion about me 🙂 Most people know that I have a very strong personality and I’m always up for anything. I love adventures and I love going out.
Spikeithard: I did some Google-ing and found out that there are indeed several hate pages about Michelle. There’s even some discussion going around at Pex. Let’s not condone such malevolent actions and be respectful of others. If you have nothing better to do other than wasting time in creating hate pages or posting nasty comments, then just shut the f*ck up!
I visited the We Hate Gumabao – WTF and Michele Gumabao: What The F*ck?” Girl of UAAP pages, clicked on Report This Page (on the lower left sidebar), and selected Contains hate speech or attacks an individual. Apparently, there could be more of these hate pages out there. If enough people do this, it should alert Facebook and prompt them to put down these pages. Guys, please do the same!
Name your top 3 non-DLSU female players you admire coming from the other schools who are currently playing in UAAP, which you think will be your team’s toughest opponents (individually) inside the court. Tell us why.
Michelle: I really have no idea 🙂 I don’t really watch volleyball on TV, I usually just hear the news from my other teammates and I don’t know that much players. For our toughest opponent well I couldn’t answer that. Every game is hard, every game needs the same amount of focus and preparation and our coach always reminds us that no matter who you are up against, no matter what competition you are in, give it your 100% effort. If your opponent doesn’t stand a chance, still play at your own level, we respect everyone in the court 🙂
Thank you Michele for your time. We wish you and the DLSU Lady Spikers all the best!
The DLSU Lady Spikers will be skipping off once again the upcoming Shakey’s V-League 8 Second Conference as they focus on training hard in preparation for the UAAP 74 Volleyball in the coming months. They are the defending UAAP champs!
