De La Salle’s four wins nullified

Ouch. Why La Salle, WHY???

Like Rick, I have no idea how to spin this in a positive way. This is just a damn travesty to the sport of volleyball and yet another setback for the La Salle sports program. Look, I have nothing against La Salle, but..

“Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me.”

Good luck to the rest of the teams, may the games be exciting so we could all forget this horrendous saga. Again.

24th SEA Games Beach Volleyball: Heidi Illustre and Diane Pascua tandem lost to Indonesia

Was browsing through the TV channels last week (Friday) when I stumbled upon the 24th SEA Games being televised on NBN Channel 4. The 24th SEA Games was held at Nakhon Ratchasima, Thailand (December 6-15, 2007). Team Philippines sent a total of 4 pairs for beach volleyball (for both Men’s and Women’s).

Does anybody know why Philippines did not have any representation during the 2007 24th SEA Games for indoor volleyball?

I stumbled upon a news article that goes “Philippine volleyball player slain in Dasmarinas robbery”. According to the reports, two people were killed while five others were wounded when three gunmen barged into the victims’ residence in Das Marinas, Cavite before dawn. One of the victims was 22-year-old Ronnie Borlagdatan, a promising national volleyball player dubbed as MR. MVP. He played for De La Salle Das Marinas.

How to put together a creative and romantic wedding proposal

Posted in Photos and Videos, Volleyball News

Congratulations to coach Sherwin Malonzo and to her beautiful wife Astrid Uy-Malonzo. They have finally tied the knot on the seventh of July, 2007. Yup, that’s lucky number 777. At least, there will be no excuse for either of them not to remember their wedding anniversary. The Latino themed wedding took place at the Parish of Our Lady of the Abandoned in Marikina City.

Coach Sherwin has been both a player and coach for the Ateneo de Manila Volleyball Team. So that’s why almost half of the guests were volleyball players. It was a very solemn and lovely evening. Congrats to the newlyweds once again.

But hey, I’m here not to talk about the wedding. It’s the proposal (a year ago during Valentine’s Day I think) that led to the wedding that’s interesting. Just see for yourself.
