It’s been a looong while since that last time I watched UAAP volleyball live at the venue itself. Nothing beats experiencing live volleyball action while taking photos with your entry-level DSLR. Unfortunately, I’m still quite busy with a lot of stuff. So I get hooked to watching selected UAAP games live over Studio23 whenever I get the chance to. And I think ABS-CBN Sports is doing a superb job covering the games with all the instant replays, highlights, court-side reporters, etc. similar to how they do it in basketball.
I also get match results, updates, and statistics (which is usually emailed almost immediately after the matches). I’ll do my best to post these updates as soon as I get them from hereon.
All UAAP 72 Volleyball updates are provided by the folks of TMX Sports. These are the people you see behind those desks and PCs around the court. They track each and every spike, set, serve, and everything else during the games.Read more

I was updating my Facebook account when I stumbled upon this Facebook fan page entitled “SmartBRO UAAP”. Apparently, SmarBRO will power the brightest stars in this season’s UAAP games. The account shows some behind-the-scenes shots from the photoshoot featuring a variety of UAAP athletes. Don’t be surprised to see billboards or posters or even TV commercials (I hope) featuring your favorite UAAP superstars in the near future being promoted by SmartBRO.
Of course, what caught my attention while I was browsing through the pages of this SmartBRO Facebook account were the UAAP Volleyball athlete endorsers!! Here’s a list of all the UAAP athletes who are part of this campaign. Take note of those volleyball athletes in the list:Read more
Before we start another page this coming summer of a number of volleyball tournaments, let me first summarize what has transpired the past school year in all volleyball leagues.
Be it UAAP, NCAA, WNCAA, V-League or whichever league there is, the champions this school year were nevertheless the teams who were expected and destined or one whom everyone was predicting to be champions. There were tests in the middle of the way but it’s what made them win and go the extra mile. It is what brought them also to the Promised Land.Read more

DE LA SALLE UNIVERSITY – MANILA – A
I am not biased since I am a Lasallian myself but in fact, I have been impressed with the way the Lady Archers have been playing. In fact, if we were to evaluate each team, La Salle definitely is the most improved. Despite the upset they experienced against UST, I still consider this team as strong the team is more like playing without a guest player since Miss Carissa Anne Gotis is not yet that conditioned and Miss Relea Ferina Saet is seldom being put in the court. Miss Regine Diego has improved a lot in terms of digging and receiving the same with Miss Celine Hernandez who has improved a lot with her spiking and floor defense. Of course, Miss Celine is the Best Blocker in the UAAP so she really is expected to lead the blocking department together with other Green and White middle blockers Miss Jacqueline Alarca and Miss Michelle Datuin. The open spikers Miss Manilla Santos and Miss Stephanie Mercado have been doing a good job in terms of both receiving and of course, attacking. Let’s see if the comeback girls from Taft will bring home their fourth V-League title this conference. But for now, they are waxing hot and are contending to bring back the glory of De La Salle Volleyball.
Far Eastern University (FEU) women’s won their second straight title as Anna Abanto and Marigail Tolentino completed a seven-game sweep over Ateneo’s Asia Urquico and Jessica Morado with an emphatic 21-8, 21-10 win at the end of the UAAP beach volleyball tournament at the UE Caloocan sand courts yesterday.Read more
The UAAP Season 71 Beach Volleyball tournament has officially opened last September 6 in UE-Caloocan. After the first few days of beach volleyball action, UST and FEU (Women’s) remain unbeaten among a total of eight teams. FEU’s Camille Anne Abanto and Marigail Tolentino started their title defense campaign on the right foot. They not only demonstrated their talent and skills on the sand, but also displayed mental toughness down the stretch. Surprisingly, they did not show any sign of jitters. They are the team to beat this season.
Come and watch the games! Here is the UAAP 71 Beach Volleyball game schedule:Read more
