NCAA Beach Volleyball Champs – San Sebastian College

San Sebastian College steamrolled past the competition in the just completed NCAA Beach Volleyball tournament to win the championship by defeating St. Benilde in the finals 21-10, 21-13 in La Salle Greenhills.

Finishing the competition with an unblemished 7-0 record, Lou Ann Latigay and Margarita Pepito took home the trophy (and some gifts from Active White) as SSC-R continues to dominate NCAA volleyball.

NCAA Beach Volleyball (Day 1): SBC defeated SSC-R

January 20, 2008 (Sunday). It was the opening games for the 83rd NCAA Beach Volleyball tournament held at La Salle Greenhills. Are there any other places where people can play beach volleyball out there? There are three divisions for the tournament namely: Women’s Seniors, Men’s Seniors, and Men’s Juniors. A fellow amateur photographer and I originally planned to watch the tandem of Laurence Ann Latigay and Margarita Pepito (the elder sister of libero Mary Jane) in the Women’s division but by the time we arrived at the venue, it was already the Men’s games being played.

I’m not too familiar with the teams and players. Was able to witness the Men’s Seniors game between Christian Allan Aguila and Leonel Evan Laraya of San Beda College against Anecito Habagat and Girald Heraldo of San Sebastian College-Recoletors. I’ve been craving to see beach volleyball action. We’ve been covering indoor volleyball ever since Spikeithard started so a change of environment would be nice!!!
