First PVC Friendship Cup happens on July 3-9 at JRU

The folks over at Progressive Volleyball Center (PVC) is going to hold a week long tournament at the Jose Rizal University Gym this July 3-9, 2011. Games start at 3pm onwards on weekends, and 5pm onwards during the weekdays of the competition. It’s called the PVC Friendship Cup because this indoor volleyball tournament has been specially created so that guest volleyball teams coming all the way from Guam can participate. The Pokai Volleyball Club, a volleyball organization based in Guam, will be fielding in their junior women’s and men’s volleyball teams.

A total of 12 teams will be participating in this first ever PVC Friendship Cup and if this becomes successful, perhaps this will become a yearly event and add to the list of well-organized tournaments the PVC folks hold (eg. PVC Open, PVC Invitational). Tournament organizer Mr. Ariel Joaquin hopes more volleyball clubs abroad particularly in the Southeast Asia region take interest in visiting the Philippines to participate in this league next time around. Here’s a list of teams who are going to battle it:
