Aside from all sorts of stuff being emailed to me, I also probe the internet from time to time for useful volleyball stuff I can blog about or share over here at Spikeithard.com. If you do a Google search on the term volleyball (with “pages from the Philippines” selected), you’d see that there are only a handful of websites out there dedicated to volleyball that are found locally. This was actually the very reason why I started Spikeithard.com blog a few years back.
From forum sites like the vleague.tk and rpspikers.net (formerly rpspikers.tk), to the official sites like v-league.ph, ncaa.org.ph, the new uaapsports.com, and greenarchers.ph. You can always check out these sites to get the latest news on volleyball in the local scene.
Philspike.com – Home of Philippine Volleyball
Other than the volleyball sites above, there’s another website that I check regularly and has been one of my trusted resources since the day I discovered it a few months ago. Dubbed as the Home of Philippine Volleyball, www.PhilSpike.com has proven itself to be one of the most comprehensive sites that covers volleyball tournaments in the country. It has been around since 2008 I believe.
What I like about PhilSpike.com…
- The site has this ‘Game Schedules’ section that is very useful.
- They do have a dedicated team of writers and photographers who cover the games. So the site should be always up-to-date I suppose.
- The site is based on the WordPress platform that allows you to register for an account. I noticed you automatically get a contributor role when you sign up.
- And they have the usual features like a Gallery, Shoutbox, and commenting function.
The man behind PhilSpike.com is Edison Go Tan who seems to be a nice fellow. The last time I got to chat Edison, he mentioned something about publishing the first ever magazine dedicated to volleyball.
More power to PhilSpike.com and the other sites out there that promote Philippine volleyball.

Wow. Nice of you to advertise your competitor. Now, it’s about time you think of the welfare of this website that YOU started. It could be big. Especially now that Philspike.com is down. It’s the best time to strike. It’s a win-win situation right? It gives you personal fulfiment while bringing in the bucks with a couple of ads on the page. C’mon!!!!

I want everyone to be all friends and enjoy the sport of volleyball. Hehe
Although I never met him pa, Edison Tan, the man behind PhilSpike is a very cool guy. I’d like to think that Spikeithard and Philspike are partners, not competitors
