After playing volleyball in Club650 last Saturday (we lost to Team Rockwell), I got so tired I said to myself I gotta do something to get back in shape. It was a tough game but the problem was, I only played for a single set and yet, I felt so exhausted. So that’s why I’m trying to make it a point to run at least 3 times a week. Running is an excellent cardiovascular workout.
After completing my first 10k marathon during the Nike Human Race event last month, I’m itching to join another running event just for fun. So next weekend, I’ll be playing volleyball on Saturday then (if time permits) will be joining the Hope In Motion 3 event the following day.
One Child. One Friend. One Movement.
Hope In Motion 3 is a fund raising event for the benefit of orphaned and homeless children. This event is being organized by a non-profit organization called SOS Children’s Villages. Here are the details:
Taken from their website:
In celebration of the Children’s Month this October, we will hold the third Hope in Motion Fun Run/Walk (HIM 3), on October 5, 2008; 5:30 AM. This event aims to promote the child protection and family strengthening programs of the organization and the value of social responsibility. It is also intended to emphasize the importance of sound living. Not only we commit to children’s welfare but also promote physical and emotional wellness for a balanced, healthy lifestyle.
Set inside Ayala Alabang, the 10km run/6km walk is open to children and adult fitness enthusiasts as well as companies who may wish to send employees as delegates. Participants from the Muntinlupa-Las Piñas-Parañaque community, particularly students, are anticipated to join in this wonderful occasion and endeavor for a good cause. The event hopes to raise funds for the basic needs, education and support of the 941 children entrusted to our care and the 4,075 beneficiaries of our Family Strengthening Programs.
