This coming September 6, 2008 (Saturday) will be the opening for the UAAP Season 71 Beach Volleyball tournament. Venue will be at the University of the East (UE) - Caloocan, 8:00AM. Eight teams will be participating in this tournament namely:
- Far Eastern University (FEU)
- Ateneo de Manila University (ADMU)
- Adamson University (AdU)
- University of Santo Tomas (UST)
- University of the East (UE)
- Dela Salle University (DLSU)
- University of the Philippines (UP)
- National University (NU)
The defending UAAP Women’s Beach Volleyball champions FEU Tamaraws will be parading their new players for this season; namely: Camille Ann Abanto, Marigail Tolentino, and Charmaine Sison (reserve). Last year’s Rookie of the Year, Shaira Gonzales who partnered with veteran Wendy Semana the last time, will not see action because she opted to play indoor volleyball for the upcoming UAAP 71 indoor volleyball in November. She and Wendy Semana are the defending UAAP Women’s Beach volleyball champions. Come and watch the opening and games.

She will be missed in beach and indoor volleyball by her avid fans. Try to watch the games starting this Saturday at UE-Caloocan grounds. Me and Coach Ness will be watching. See you there!
