8. What is/are the difference/s of the team this year from last year?
Tomie: I think that this team is stronger than last year’s. Though we lost two members of our first six, I believe that we are more competent because we are more united. Since most of us are of the same age, we feel much more comfortable with each other.
Gelo: Last year, we were a bit laid back. We thought we could handle some of our opponents without question, but we ended up losing to them. This year, though we strive to go for the crown, we keep in mind that anything could happen. Anyone could be a threat. Even members of our team could pose as a threat. Though I can say that our team this year has bonded more than that of last year. We’ve been through thick and thin, and hopefully this could also help us in our games.
JP: In my opinion, our team now is tougher to beat. We are all seniors and we need to give our best shot this season. We all want to win a championship for the school and also for ourselves as we play our final year as high school volleyball players.
Neil: Well, we lost our two middle players because they already graduated but they have replacements that is why little adjustments have been made.
9. Do you think trashtalking is all part of the game?
Tomie: We don’t trashtalk. We find it very immature and childish because only insecure and ill-mannered people do such a thing.
Gelo: I rarely trash talk unless I really get irritated with a certain player. Usually I respond to a trash talk by winning a point. Our coach once said, “Ano mas maingay, yung pagbubunganga o ang pagpatay ng bola?” So, more or less, I avoid trash talking.
JP: Honestly, I sometimes trash talk our opponents. This is a way for me to remove my nervousness during games and it’s also a way for me to boost my teammates’ confidence. In addition, I also find trash talking as a way of enjoyment even though it’s wrong and strictly prohibited.
Neil: We don’t trash talk. We never trash talk. We really don’t see the purpose of trash talking that is why we don’t involve ourselves in the said act. Instead of trash talking, we think that it is better and more helpful to cheer your team mates rather than fighting verbally with the opponent. We also believe that silence is louder than trash talking. Besides, when the opponent trash talks, we just get hyped up and we become more determined to beat them. When our spikers drill and kill the ball, the opponent tends to shut up anyway. HAHAHA!
10. What do you think are the advantages of trashtalking?
Tomie: I think that the only advantage in trashtalking is that you get to shatter the morale of your opponent. However, I think that there is really no need in trashtalking. What really matters is how good you are in playing.
Gelo: Though I don’t trash talk much, I know that it is meant to pressure an opponent. In my opinion though, it could be turned into something I could use as an advantage. I mean, what is the point of an opponent trash talking you if you could show him otherwise? Right?
JP: As I have said, trash talking boosts my confidence.
Neil: Since our team doesn’t believe in trash talking, I think that there are no advantages in it.

wow,we are invited by the Ateneo Varsity Team, havent seen how the game is played by the youngsters, i used to watch games but this time i wont be able to coz of the change of venue, hanggang Blue Eagles Gym lang ako, anything farther than that is unnavigable na para sakin, hehehhe
UE kasi is the host of the league so dun talaga yung venue.
That’s the main problem nga eh kasi sobrang dami gusto manuod pero super layo ng venue.
If the venue is at The Arena, for sure, people will really watch the games.
malapit lang ang ue ah. ue caloocan ba?? o manila??
BTW, to all those who are watching the game this sunday :
