To those FEU fans still stuck with their UAAP championship feeling!
Regarding Guest Players
I just observed that they are bitter as always since after FEU won the UAAP. The thing is, if you are a fan of FEU or if it is your alma matter, DONT EXPECT MORE from your team especially when it engages in other women’s volleyball tournament, aside from what the UAAP offers, because FEU is only committed to UAAP -WVT- You should criticize your team’s manager for not grabbing an all around GP, Carloz is right in this particular topic. I just dont know the reason why FEU opts every time to skip hiring worthy GPs. In my opinion maybe:
1. The FEU team is just too lofty with itself that it wont mind having a GP from outside the team “former members”.
2. They don’t have the PR qualities to lure a potential MVP quality GP that FEU only end up with their former exceptional but just average players /take for example Ms. Manalo and Ms. Torres/. In the past FEU had quiet a rooster of GPs, however they perform, they could not just lift up FEU to even finish up in the semifinals or at least get the fourth place finish.
3. Or FEU don’t have the resources. It might be compensation wise, location, benefits or that they simply lack the connections in acquiring a GP please correct me if I’m wrong..
Their “strategy” and addiction
Okay, I will not contend the history of FEU in winning double digit numbers of championship in UAAP. Still, one thing I observed, FEU in almost all sports is “power hungry”. My term of FEU comprises alumnis, fans, management and students alike. They like to boost of their school, well that is what is expected of all institution, but the thing is, FEU supporters are just well above the threshold of the fine line of being too wound up and addicted to a CHAMPIONSHIP FEELING. FEU accomplishes this by employing relatively excessive fresh men student support of theirs wearing their used up not golden but yellow T-shirts, whenever FEU has a match in whatever sport in the UAAP. Deploy propaganda like university band, complete with trumpets, all kinds of drums, lyres, trombones and even triangles etc, aside from the regular cheering band which should only be comprised of drums and cheering squads. Plus, the worst thing they do to deserve being labeled a “power hungry” institution is that they force their students to attend their matches to the point that some of these students, sporting again the signature t-shirt complete with their mascot’s full blown horns, which is exaggerated, assume the status of being a production assistant or P.A. of their supposedly hyped, disputed superstar star kind of a feeling of an average player. I witness many times especially in WVT, while watching their matches in the court side. These students brought all the paraphernalias at their player’s whim.
Regarding the last UAAP WVT
FEU won the last UAAP WVT at the expense of Adamson deceivingly. I prefer to use the said term instead of “disputably” because I had recognized like all others, mindful and sane with volleyball, that winning in a sport is very improbable as the saying “bilog ang bola”. Imagine, a team losing all their four first matches with the same opponent and then EVENing the last two surprisingly. The question is, how did they accomplish that and finally labeled the phrase “deceivingly won”. Simple, they downgraded the opposing school’s supporter’s attendance in the championship matches to the point of using up at least three-fourths of the venue’s sits. I just could not believe why they made it to annoy the opposing team’s game by just their sheer numbers. And then they started to thrash mouth their opponent’s supporters which made it even worst, of course other schools have their share but FEU exceedingly and relatively is too much to handle . Believe me, with their line-up at that time, their is no way they could win unless with the help of their all too imposing thrash talking supporters. The opponent simply did not came out with their usual game because of the atmosphere!
Regarding the present which matters most
No matter how many championships FEU had in the past, nothing can compare the present. The V-league is nowadays the most prestigious WVT and no one can contend that! FEU had many years of experience in the league, I think five years and counting, that is if they will still be invited the next time. I hope the commissioners will not have a mistake of allowing this team with their rookie-laden line-up the next time. The truth is, FEU just doesn’t have the intention to win many matches in the V-league, they just want to practice for the next UAAP where they are disputably dominant with other institutions. The UAAP is as always a toss-up and FEU is not its greatest team, that would contemporarily be UST!
Guys I hope I’m wrong…

Guys, I hope I’m wrong…
This is pure crap.
Everything you said is just based on your speculations and your opinion.
Ever tasted sour grapes?
This is it!
“In the past FEU had quiet a rooster of GPs”
May tandang ba sa FEU-WVT?
yup….wat u have said are all speculations….
anong prob if mas madami clang fans kesa sa adu???
until now hindi moh pa tanggap n talo ang ADU at UST….
we all know that adamson is really a good team esp. with nerissa bautista as their guest player and thats why they were able to vanguished ateneo even charo and karla were present..but what about a play-off against UST?
diba its unfair naman na tawagin sila na champion without dethroning the recent champion university of santo tomas??!! its unfair diba?
hmmp…..
c riza magaling nga oa lng sa kayabangan….
c segidine… nagmamaganda… hahah obvious namang hindi… hahaha
Are you that close with Riza? And a friend of Segodine?
Before judging a person you have not got any close with, please think of your acceptable reasons, and wait for the next UAAP season to start before saying it was just all luck… Do not expect more from your team, Ateneo is much better even if their both full of new comers next season.
Guys they are all champions. i wouldn’t say na ginagamit ng FEU ang audience at trashtalking para manalo, remember sila ang current unigames champions as well. ang ADU, although they relied on bautista to help them win the championship, i think they deserve the crown, they have been able to bag first runner-up titles in both UAAP and the recent PVF and was able to win a Unigames championship without Guest Players. and hindi kasalanan ng ADU kung wala ang UST sa SVL. so wag na pag-awayan. Let’s congratulate the champion teams.
FEU - current UAAP and Unigames Champions
SSC - current NCAA champions
LPU - current WNCAA champions
UST - current PVF champions
and now
ADU - current SVL champions
Where did you got the info that FEU is the reigning Unigames Women’s Volleyball Champion…
oh.. i apologize for the misinformation.. it’s actually ADU who is the reigning Unigames champion. FEU was the champions in 2006. And i think there’s is another league which ADU won. not sure though.
where is your article for championship…you dont have any coz this an ATENEO website? just wondering…
Spikeithard is NOT a pro-Ateneo website at all. It just so happens that most of our sources are coming from folks from Ateneo. And oh, blue is really my favorite color too
Still collecting photos all over the place before the ‘championship’ article gets published. I wasn’t able to watch the Finals game live so that’s why I don’t have personal inputs. I’m relying on other Spikeithard contributors to hopefully share their experiences during the championship day that Adamson clearly dominated from start to finish.
lols… wahehehehe…. tagal na nung championship til now wala pa….lols!
hahahaha….! talo kasi Ateneo kaya walang article dito..winalis kasi eh….!
i beg to disagree…. pleace..
*peace pala.. hehe…
Simply_serious really? FEU have numerous of championships because they really did well in the UAAP and not because they outnumbered the opposing teams fans or audience…if that is the case then, am sure, may universities will do that… i dont know if you are an expert of the game or just a fan who, until now, cant move on and still stucked with what happened last uaap season… i really disagree with what you posted… its all speculations… and FEU is not the greatest team? aww com’on alot from our philippine team atheletes are from feu then not the greatest team? last uaap season feu finally found the exact championship combination which is why they bagged the championship.
yup why is simply serious like that???
she is trying to tell me that her reasons are acceptable…
waaaaaa!!!!!!
are all of that accceptable…
wen what she posted was all merely observations and opinions….
camon…
feu rules…..
why simply serious???
are you that close also with the feu players?????
what you have said was just a mere observation of yours only….
maybe dhil sa pagkawala ng veteran ng feu pwdng adu na ang magchamp next season…..but then i still stand with my point….
REPLY TO SERIOUS: Part 1
First of all, YES, you got it all wrong.
Now let me give my thoughts.
>How can we, FEU fans or alumni as you said, not expect more from a team who has won numerous championship crowns. If you didn’t notice, FEU is not really into hiring spectacular GPs. AND if you didn’t notice, Coach Ernest seldom uses his GP either, this is to give more exposure to his other players, which happens to be the future of his team. Take the team to other competitions that do not allow GPs, more or less, they would perform at the same caliber, whether they perform well or not is not the issue. The FEU WVT sees other outside UAAP tournament as training grounds- this includes the Shakey’s V-league.
In my opinion maybe:
1. The FEU team is just too lofty with itself that it wont mind having a GP from outside the team “former members”.
I have answered this ever repetitive point. The FEU team is into hiring GPs to bring them to victory. They would rather lose the championship crown with their official tream line-up, than to win it because they depended on an external force.
This is not an issue of PR qualities or publicity. If you would watch previous SVL conferences FEU’s GPs seldom play as part of the team’s first six. It is very evident this season; they only gave “Ms. Torres” limited playing time. Try to watch this video: http://youtube.com/watch?v=TUe3heT2Jfk Nene Bautista was FEU’s GP during that season, but nowhere can you see her in their line-up. Now how can you expect her to carry the team to higher a standing if she didn’t play at all. Again, my point is the FEU TEAM DOES NOT DEPEND ON THEIR GUEST PLAYERS!
3. Or FEU don’t have the resources. It might be compensation wise, location, benefits or that they simply lack the connections in acquiring a GP please correct me if I’m wrong..
Now this is ridiculous. Just inquire at their admissions office to see how much is their tuition per semester, then tell me they don’t have any (financial) resources. When it comes to connections, The volleyball community in the country is not so big, always remember that. Look at how they acquire players, isn’t that a proof that they can acquire players for their team if they really want to.

You cannot blame FEU if they require, if they really do, their students to attend any volleyball game, and have the students cheer for their team. One more thing, dyanne is right, it is not the FEU cheering squad, the FEU band, the freshmen-wearing-yelloy-shirts, who plays inside the court and wins championship games. Also, if you like to point out the team’s fan-base, I believe UST has more fans. If FEU requires or forces their students to attend games and all, UST has true fans that are not even alumni who can really fill large venues. Looking back, this crowd was not able to defeat the FEU team, because these people are not the ones who play for the team. If this, as you said, gives FEU their championship titles, we can’t do anything about that; it is their “strategy” then. Maybe, next time you watch on court side you can be your team’s loudest and greatest morale booster, let’s see if that will work for them too. If, you think, it worked for FEU, you should also believe it will work for your team.
Again, IT IS NOT THE CROWN WHO PLAYS INSIDE THE COURT. I was there during the championship match between FEU and AdU. I cannot say that AdU didn’t have a good-sized crown. There were blue and white hotdog ballons, there were loud cheers whenever Segodine makes a point, there were loud boos whenever Daquis serves. I even sat with the AdU crowd, they noticed that I cheered for the FEU team, and I can say that tried their best to annoy me. A girl tried to block my view with her AdU banner, I don’t know if if was intentional or not, I didn’t care. What was more annoying was when FEU started to win, they all had their mouths shut and their banners closed, I finally said to myself, justice served. Why don’t you blame Hiponia for her poor service which caused their team’s lost. It is not the crowd who had formidable floor defense, hard hitting spikes, and it is not even them who had the last service error.
Regarding the present which matters most
No matter how many championships FEU had in the past, nothing can compare the present.
I agree with you, so stop living in the past.
The V-league is nowadays the most prestigious WVT and no one can contend that!
I can, and I will. It all depends on what perspective you are coming from. FEU may think that a UAAP crown is more important, or SSC would say that their goal is to finally have that SVL crown. If it is really the MOST prestigious crown, why did big volleyball teams, like UST and LaSalle, choose not to join. I believe that every volleyball competition to every volleyball team is important.
The commissioners will not think twice on inviting the FEU team again next season. If what you were pointing out earlier that FEU can bring large crowds to the Arena is true, why will they choose to drop this this team if it can invite more audience share. Mind you, they team maybe rookie-laden today, but this line-up will no longer be rookies by tomorrow. If FEU’s intention is not to win but only to practice, they have the prerogative on that; it is not for anyone else to decide. Try to be consistent; “FEU is dominant with other institutions in UAAP, but UST is its greatest team?”
Guys, I hope I’m wrong…
As I said, yes you are.
yes……
got my pont….
tnx for considering it…
hmmmp….
win or not…
FEU would still be the champion for us…
may 2nd conference pb v-league ngaun?
meron yan for sure. for this year ang aabangan natin:
SVL 2
NCAA
UAAP 71
WNCAA
Unigames
tingan natin kung sino ang madedethrone. hehehehehe.
yung home and away league nde na nasundan.. ang last nila nung 2006 pa.
