For the common volleyball fan of the older times, the importance of the libero is often overlooked. But their significance is now being recognized as a vital part of the team because of their defensive expertise. They are usually the player that is responsible for the continuous ball movement by preventing opponents to score by digging their attacks. Her petite stature is inversely proportional to her movement on the court because she is everywhere. The is currently the number 1 digger with 30 excellent digs. She averages 2.14 digs per set. This is just her second playing season in the v-league so we can expect more from this girl on the upcoming games.

Lizlee Ann Gata

Playing her second V-league year is Lizlee Ann Gata of the Adamson Soaring Falcons. Fresh from her Best Libero award from the last UAAP season, she is really proving her worth by being consistent on the ball handling skill. Some people would say that she already mastered on how to pass the ball excellently to their setter, Janet Serafica – an observation that I do agree. She is currently the third best digger of the league at 20 excellent digs, averaging 1.67 per set. At the receiving department, Gata has the most excellent receives, acquiring 31at 27.36% efficiency. Gata is a solid factor on why Adamson University is the best digging and second best receiving team at this point. A very promising lady, Lizlee Ann already gathered a lot of fans, primarily because of her skills, and an added bonus? This lady is quite a looker.

Mary Jane Pepito

Fondly called “MJ” by her fans, Mary Jane Pepito of San Sebastian Lady Stags has a reputation for being a first-rate libero. She could be described as one of the best digger, receiver, and libero in v-league history, alongside Shermaine Peñano of DLSU. Currently on her fifth v-league, Mary Jane is instrumental on why SSC is a top performing team in every conference of the league. As of now, she is the number 2 best digger with 21excellent digs, averaging 1.75 per set. Her ability to convert difficult balls to good passes helps her team a lot to create better plays. Aside from the fact that she does her job well, her beauty is one of the reasons why SSC is popular among the male population.

Even if you got through, don’t be so sure, for these women protects the floor. Joana Marie, Lizlee Ann, and Mary Jane, they are dangerous weapons – they are Liberos.
