February 27, 2008 (Wednesday). I wanted the Lady Falcons to win their first ever UAAP Volleyball championship title, but not today. Why? Because I didn’t have time to watch Game 2 day live at The Arena. So I was really hoping FEU will win their games so that there will be a Game 3 day this Sunday (March 2).
I was able to witness snippets of the women’s volleyball game live on Studio23 while chatting with you guys at the same time. (Don’t worry, we’ll setup a chatbox again this Sunday). I envy Charo Soriano and Karla Bello who I saw on TV taking photos during the game. Here are the game results based on the latest UAAP Volleyball Daily Bulletins:
Women’s Volleyball Finals Game 2:
- FEU defeated Adamson in 4 sets: 25-18, 16-25, 25-10, 25-21. Best Scorers were (#4) Rissa Jane Laguilles of Adamson with a total of 15 won points and (#3) Rachel Anne Daquis of FEU with a total of 18 points. Game duration: 1hour 42mins.
After losing to the Lady Falcons during Game 1, FEU came right back by winning the second game. The series is now tied at 1-1. There will be a third and final game this Sunday. The MVP award will also be selected right after the game. And guess what, it’s a neck-to-neck battle between Laguilles and Daquis. Here are Best Scorers of the Finals round so far:

2. DAQUIS Rachel Anne of FEU - 31pts.
3. BENTING Angela of ADU - 28pts.

So there. After two games of volleyball action, it all boils down to the third and final Game 3. Will Adamson make history by winning their first every UAAP Volleyball championship crown? to all volleyball fanatics out there, please try not to bash here, most especially saying something odious and obnoxious at someone, i dont think its right and its not fair judging our players right away, kung may nagtatrash talk man o may lumalabas sa bunganga nila that you didnt like keep it within you, i mean they are the ones who experienced pressures and maybe its one way of letting it out…come on, try to enjoy the remaining games for this season instead of bashng around….
DAQUIS, SEMANA, MORADA, GONZALES, CAFRANCA, ABANTO, TAGANAS and the rest of the LADY TAMS WVT and for men as well, congratulations for making this far, you once again prove not only to everyone but to yourselves also that you really have what it takes to be a champion, you have proven it alot of time, season 68—DLSU, season 69—UST and now season 70—it might be you guys, so do everything you can, we shouldnt let big chances like this to slip off our grasps…well always support you guys…. goodluck on sundays big event…well be there to support you once more….
By the way i would like to say this, DAQUIS is really showing her worth, shes always keeping the spirit alive for all of her team mates and shes always there whenever her team mates needed her like what shes showing us the last 2 games.

ang ganda ng mga check ball ni Daquis kay Cerafica, actually yung buong FEU team ang ganda ng game nila lahat..natawa nga kami sa 25-10 na score,grabe hindi un tsamba, focus tlga ang buong FEU team kahapon,,sana sa Sunday ganun pa rin ang game nila…hanep si Semana at Morada kahapon,galing galing…
while sa Adamson before pa mgstart ang game, all smile na sila na parang na over confidence yta sila at minalit ang FEU team…

finally, the lady tamaraws defeated the only team in the UAAP who has been the main obstacle or barrier for them to bag the championship crown. they outlasted the lady falcons in a 4-sets game showing how truly deserving they are for the title. and i was really impressed for the first to the smart and tricky performance of rachelle ann daquis which serves as the main spark plug for the lady tamaraws to play well. and as we expected, wendyanne semana once again proved her worth as the team’s captain and a very-reliable player in her team. she gave the lady falcons such powerful kills, setting nice sets for the spikers, and digging powerful spikes from the opponent. lastly, ofcourse victory for the lady tamaraws wouldn’t be possible without the contribution of macaila morada, abanto, cafranca and their libero,taganas. they really worked and played as one team which led them to commit a few numbers of errors, which i think is one of the factors why they defeated the lady falcons. Heart and Hardwork FEU Women and Men Volleyball Team captured the 2 game to tie up 1-1 standing and showcase their power and stamina this coming March 2 (Sunday)for us to know who will get the tittle for UAAP Season 70. Standard bearers of FEU Team Edjet Mabbayad and Rachelle Anne Daquis shown their worth to lead and inspire their teamates to got 3-1 won sets game for rival team Adamson University and University of Sto. Tomas. Really a breathtaking and amazing game that both women and men volleyball teams shown that afternoon to give the intensity of the spectators inside the Arena, San Juan.
Lets commend the tamaraw volleybelles: Fealess quick spikes of M. Morada, fast and determine off speed spikes of Shaira Gonzalez, tricky and smart spikes of Cafranca, powerful left-handed spikes by Abanto, hardworking libero Taganas and accurate and unread sets of Wendyanne Semana. For men squad, the great wall of china blocks by Magnaye and Mabutol, defensive digs of Manahan, an expert sets of Lopez and the heartthrob & unstoppable Edjet Mabbayad.
On the side of the Adamson, the heart and mind of Rissa Laguilles in playing inside the court and well-improved Segodine. For Thomasians, Torre’s powerful and accurate spikes and undetermine serves of Dimaculangan.
Goodluck for competing teams this coming Sunday Showdown on March 2 at the Arena, San Juan . Thanks for giving us spectacular games.

ganun po talaga si semana. laging serious. always observing and trying to read the opponent’s move… i don’t think na nakakalimutan nia ang teamwork coz she’s the one keeping the team. she’s the team captain. and i think, as a team captain, a leader, teamwork ung number one priority specially if they play a sports like volleyball.

semana wasn’t like that nung mga previous games. ngayon lang po siya nag-act ng ganun sa court. kasi po, if napansin nio, nung first set, there wasn’t much reaction from her. nag-start n siya “mag-ayos ng shirt” nung mid of second set kasi binu-boo sila ng Adu crowd. so, she, like daquis, have to play like maangas in the court to fight the boos. and also, to boost up the team’s confidence. she just have to be. if u want to know the real semana, puntahan nio xa sa FEU and u’ll see n hindi po siya mayabang.

thank you swordtiker (nakahanap narin ako ng kakampi hehehehe)… i also thought of that…its really unfair… DUMBGENIUS is really unfair, imagine FEU’s win is VOLLEYBALL’s loss and USTs loss is VOLLEYBALL’s gain,what is he thinking? for the record,UST won the title only last season 69 for women’s and season 66 for men’s, only two championship for both since 2001 while FEU has 7 already, 3 for women’s and 4 for men’s since 2001, FEU has the longest appearances in the finals for 15 consecutive seasons, try to look at UAAP history, baka mahiya ka sa mga sinasabi mo… FEU has already 48 championship all in all, 25 for womens and 23 for mens while UST has only 16, 9 for womens and 7 for mens, since 1978 until this very moment hindi nawawala sa top 4 ang feu for both department, pag nakita mo ang history ng uaap baka mahihiya ka pati sa sarili mo… actually mas marami pa ngang championship title ang up at ue sa ust…before you speak try to think over and over if you can justify what you are about to say or write ok???
Nga pala FEU is about to add that number this season with two from both department…
