We all know by now what happened last Wednesday. Both the FEU Women’s Volleyball Team and Men’s Volleyball Team prevailed and extended their respective championship series to force a winner take all game three nail biter this Sunday. Here are some incidents that may have fallen through the cracks:
Spoke with some UAAP officials and a REFORM of the current rules is in strong consideration. With volleyball gaining in popularity, management will take a serious look into the reorganization of the tournament. Kudos to that. Stuff like Regular season MVP and Finals MVP etc. etc. will be sorted out hopefully by next season, but for now, lets be happy with the players who walked away with the hardware.
A hearty THANK YOU to the supporters of Adamson University. When Charo Soriano and Mary Jean Balse received their awards, Adamson fans chanted their respective school cheers. (I was wondering where that “go usteeeh!” chant was coming from) Thank you very much for that wonderful display of sportsmanship. That gesture was flat out pure class. I hope others noticed it too and appreciated what you did. Thank You.
Also spoke with ABS-CBN officials regarding the lack of extended time of the men’s game after the allotted 6PM timeslot. The deal with the UAAP board and ABS-CBN sports was to air the women’s game; the men’s playoffs and championship series was just an added bonus. They will meet to see if they can extend another hour or so, since there will definitely be a celebration of sorts, but nothing is confirmed. (cross your fingers)
Yes its true that they extend coverage for UAAP Basketball games, but if you think about it, sponsors are 100 times more willing to give money to basketball than they are to volleyball (for now) so, sad to say, that’s just how it goes. With the way volleyball is growing though, that will soon change.
For those who are absolutely fuming about the lack of extension, well that was the deal. If you really want to see the games then go to the Arena and experience it first hand. Yes volleyball is a fast growing sport in the Philippines and there will be bumps along the way. The TV coverage being one of them.

I think the Go Uste chant came from the AdU Band as well. The UST people were still not there when they gave out the awards. The folks from FEU were just silent at one corner watching, since no one from the their Women’s Volleyball team got any award.
I was sad and a bit disappointed cause Shaira didn’t get the ROY Award, but they gave it to Acevedo and she was second in my list. I really think that UAAP should start sorting out their rules and all. With the sport slowly gaining popularity, they can’t afford to have major loopholes in their system!
Anyway, still rooting for my FEU team. I am not from this school, and I am surprised with the amount of support I give to their team. If only they showed the battle for third for the men’s division, then I have my own school to cheer. Meanwhile, I am happy supporting the TAMARAWS! LET’S GO! LET’S GO TAMARAWS!!!

thank you swordtiker (nakahanap narin ako ng kakampi hehehehe)… i also thought of that…its really unfair… DUMBGENIUS is really unfair, imagine FEU’s win is VOLLEYBALL’s loss and USTs loss is VOLLEYBALL’s gain,what is he thinking? for the record,UST won the title only last season 69 for women’s and season 66 for men’s, only two championship for both since 2001 while FEU has 7 already, 3 for women’s and 4 for men’s since 2001, FEU has the longest appearances in the finals for 15 consecutive seasons, try to look at UAAP history, baka mahiya ka sa mga sinasabi mo… FEU has already 48 championship all in all, 25 for womens and 23 for mens while UST has only 16, 9 for womens and 7 for mens, since 1978 until this very moment hindi nawawala sa top 4 ang feu for both department, pag nakita mo ang history ng uaap baka mahihiya ka pati sa sarili mo… actually mas marami pa ngang championship title ang up at ue sa ust…before you speak try to think over and over if you can justify what you are about to say or write ok???
Nga pala FEU is about to add that number this season with two from both department…
i wrote this in a hope to let everyone know that FEU is a powerhouse also, and it shows and proven.

I’ve been wishing about this dvd thing since last year. They really, really should look into this matter as soon as possible. Kung pwede nga as far back as they can. Sa totoo lang kahit 90’s na UAAP WVT panonoorin ko pa rin. Maganda kasing i-compare yung game noon at ngayon. Pero kung wala silang copy noon, kahit starting year 2000.

to all those who are sourgraping dahil nanalo ang FEU, wag po maging makitid ang utak nio. the tam players were only like that dahil they were just answering back the boos from the ADU crowd. when people are giving you boos, the more you’ll be challenge to show them n u don’t deserve those boos. they were also lifting or boosting up the teams confidence. di naman sila ganun kung di nio sila binu-boo. di nio po maiaalis ung emotions from the players. bakit si segodine, nung elimination round palang ng season, kung anu-ano n ginagawa sa court n mas malala p, she was even given warning by the referee last game, di nio siya tinatawag na mayabang?
if you hate the players, try to put urself sa kalagayan nila to understand them.
Kayabangan…it’s such a subjective matter…kung fan ka ng feu sasabihin mo mayabang ang adu, same goes to the other side…Kung iicipin lng nting maigi kilala b ntin cla personally for us to say na mayabang cla?Hindi db…
Kung iicipin dn ntin yng mga “throw-down look†yng mga “show who’s the boss†attitude ng players db it adds up to the appeal of the game…
People wag puro bugso ng damdamin ang pairalin…Just think…db mas exciting ang volleyball kng merng mga ganitong show off. Think that it is all for the good of volleyball.

I’m very glad kasi buhay nanaman ang volleyball fever!!!Salamat sa World Women’s Volleyball Grand Prix…especially sa Brazil!!!Naging popular na rin sa wakas ang volleyball dito.It started sa pagpunta ng grand prix dito.Nabuhayan ang volleyball fanatics..and thank you shakey’s and other sponsors for giving the teams a chance to show off their talents by sponsoring the event…AT least padami n ng padami ang sumusoporta at nanonood ng volleyball..at higit sa lahat napapanood na ang games sa TV kahit mga pinoy at pinay ang naglalaro…We, too can produce our local version of Leila Barros, Virna Dias, Erika Coimbra, Lioubov Chachova, Regla Belle etc..

at binulong sa akin dati ni coach augusto na UST team has a motto “JUST give chance to other†wahhahah
and because UST fail to make it to the final battle, i want adu to win this season.. kasi ang YAYABANG ng mga taga FEU especially MORADA(na tibo) SEMANA (mukhang unggoy)(coach daw siya di nmn deserving at lastly DAQUIS(na ang bobo, maganda lang siya)
GO USTE, you can make it to the next season and in the shakeys v-league..

We keep on saying na ang yabang ni ganyan ang yabang ni ganito, but have we taken a hard look on ourselves? From the way some of the people here are acting, they are clearly more than mayabang, they are RUDE and DISCRIMINATING.
BOTH teams - AdU and FEU deserves to be in the finals. It’s not tsamba and importantly it’s not UST’s way of giving “chance†to others. If that’s the case, then they should have just quit early on the tournament right? We can see that UST players played their hearts out during their last match against FEU, We’ve seen how they cried when they failed to extend it to GAME 2. That’s not “giving chance to othersâ€. They simply lost to a better team. I love UST (especially Ms. Tabaquero ^_^) but I hope we can give credit where credit is due.
Goodluck to AdU and FEU tomorrow! Whoever emerges as the winner truly deserves it (But of course, I’m hoping against hope that it will be FEUÖ ***grins***)
