Why FEU’s win is volleyball’s loss

There is a flip side of course, as not having UST in the finals is like having no Chicago Bulls (Jordan era) in the NBA. It hurts the league because:

  1. Can FEU-Adamson fill the stands? Okay, the ticket prices are a bit steep at the Arena for these games (100, 50, & 30) so are the fans willing to go and watch the games? Sure FEU supporters filled the arena admirably against UST, but with UST, it’s a near guarantee that the Arena will be filled to the rafters for championship games. Go ask San Sebastian.
  2. Can FEU-Adamson maintain the same drama? Well, were gonna find out soon enough, but on paper anything UST adds pizzazz to almost any event. Can FEU emulate UST’s “win when it counts” swagger in this series?
  3. No UST. Does it sound redundant yet? NO UST! The league’s top draw isn’t even in the championship game!! It’s a fact that big companies want big schools with big populations. Adamson obviously doesn’t compare to UST
  4. Say goodbye to your stars. Reigning MVP Venus Bernal ended her UAAP career with a strong 24-point performance, so until there’s a pro league, we won’t be seeing her besides the v-league. Question, is it also Balse’s last year?
  5. It’s a chink in the armor of the national team roster. By virtue of having the national coach and some of his core players be decimated by a team with half its roster of rookies, maybe it’s back to the drawing board for player selection.

Haha, so yun lang pala ang point ng volleyball? never mind that the better teams went to the finals, kasi boring yung finals kasi walang UST? Or kapitalismo lang ba itop, paramihan ng tickets na mabebenta? :D May point din naman, nakakantok kasi pag nasa offensive na ang ADU, puro drop balls at power tips. Ang hirap pang patayan ng bola, tsk. tsk.

Hmmm, isn’t it more exciting if the game had long rallies? And I don’t mind the drop balls and power tips of ADU. It doesn’t mean that they can’t hit the ball – segodine and benting can spike the ball with authority… well maybe laguilles sometimes – it just goes to show that they are using their heads. You can’t just whack the ball all the time because sooner or later, the blockers will have your number. To quote the Falcon’s coach (i love her by the way. she looks like the evil stepmother but she doesn’t speak and act that way): “utak lang yan…”

hay…win or lose FEU pa rin!!! parang BRAZIL at GINEBRA yan ng PBA..admit it or not sila ang crowd favorite since nagsimula pa ang uaap…they held the most numbers of championships…the Lady Tams is a young team compare to others…so ifever they lose the season, im sure they’ll come back and win the championship next year…paghandaan nlng nila cla Morada, Gonzales, Dacquis at Semana!!!they have shown a lot of improvement this season..lalo na c Morada and upcoming Gonzales, you are so young but enough to prove for you have shown your skills…C Semana napaka flexible at all around playe, napaka complete na player…I salute you guys!!!marami p kayong playing years sa UAAP..continue toimprove and WIN the CHAMPIONSHIP…Good luck guys and DONT BE DEMoRALIZED…NEVER SAY DIE!!!kaya nyo yan…kita naman..kahit ilang points pa ang lamang ng kalaban..kayang kaya nyo habulin!puro lang cla Tapik..adamson has NO Power at all…at ang PAPANGET nila, just like their coach, parang MANGKUKULAM lng n NALIGAW sa UAAP, OKATOKAT tignan sa screen…ang FEU Women’s Volley Team ay HINDI lng MAGAGANDA, CHARMING AT SEXY, MAGAGALING PA at MATATALINO!!!

Magsa-suffer talaga ang gate attendance with UST already eliminated.

It’s high time for the fans of the two schools to come out and support their players and teams.

Imagine Game 1 ng Finals in both the men’s and women’s volleyball ginawa ng Sunday hindi pa napuno ang venue. Pano pa kung sa Wednesday ang game? Lalong uunti ang crowd attendance dahil may pasok nun. hehehe. Anyway, who knows baka mag-declare ng holiday ang FEU at Adamson para makanood ang mga students nila.

PEACE!

one for FEU!!!

The title is unfair to FEU – they must have worked hard to be at the spot where they are now. UST is winless against them. I personally think Semana is amazing. When did the league become a popularity contest anyway?

A blog made by a dilusional UST fan who thought that UST owned the entire volleyball scene.. Loser! Go home and cry your heart out…nyahahah

With tears welling in her eyes, Ma. Rosario “Charo” Soriano sings the Ateneo hymn for the last time as a Lady Eagle, We the avid fans of miss soriano also cries as she cries in her last game vs adamson at San juan arena. we really sympathize when she cries, and we were move with teardrops as she finally make her team in their first final four appearance and give her best on her last uaap volleyball career. WE humbly appreciate how miss soriano plays hard inside the court, she is an outstanding volleyball player, a humble, a pretty and intelligent person to be admired with. To Miss soriano, you have done and contributed a lot in uaap volleyball in terms of game popularity and glory, you make us happy, you are a very interesting notable player, You were the most exciting player to watch and you dont have to worry you had also reap the fruit of labor for winning the uaap season 70 best scorer and best RECEIVER citation award. Youve been chosen as the rookie of the year in 2003 if im not mistaken.Even your team didnt make it to the final championship, but since then many of your fans in and outside the campus considers you as the true mvp and team champion. “GOD BLESS YOU WHATEVER YOURE PLANS IN THE FUTURE “

spammer detected!!!hehehe i saw this in all the threads…yah yah we already knew…it’s mellenium ago get over it.maybe you should direct a movie on this…just like what i said on the other thread.

Bakit po nag iba ang rule ng selection ng board regarding the mvp this season diba dapat and mvp yung the best scorer in the league which is in the person of Ms. charo soriano.Kasi po dapat iba and finals mvp and then iba rin po and season mvp.dalawa po and selection dapat ng pagpili ng mvp kasi kung sa final lang selection ng mvp mawawalan ng saysay ang galing ng isang manlalaro in the whole season katulad kay charo na deserving naman talaga n recepient ng mvp this season at unfair ito sa kanya at sa side ng mag fans nya who are awaiting

best scorer is fair enough… since sya lng nman marunong imiskor sa ateneo.hehehe

thank you swordtiker (nakahanap narin ako ng kakampi hehehehe)… i also thought of that…its really unfair… DUMBGENIUS is really unfair, imagine FEU’s win is VOLLEYBALL’s loss and USTs loss is VOLLEYBALL’s gain, what is he thinking? for the record,UST won the title only last season 69 for women’s and season 66 for men’s, only two championship for both since 2001 while FEU has 7 already, 3 for women’s and 4 for men’s since 2001, FEU has the longest appearances in the finals for 15 consecutive seasons, try to look at UAAP history, baka mahiya ka sa mga sinasabi mo… FEU has already 48 championship all in all, 25 for womens and 23 for mens while UST has only 16, 9 for womens and 7 for mens, since 1978 until this very moment hindi nawawala sa top 4 ang feu for both department, pag nakita mo ang history ng uaap baka mahihiya ka pati sa sarili mo… actually mas marami pa ngang championship title ang up at ue sa ust…before you speak try to think over and over if you can justify what you are about to say or write ok???

Nga pala FEU is about to add that number this season with two from both department…

i wrote this in a hope to let everyone know that FEU is a powerhouse also, and it shows and proven.

Peace y’all….hehehe

i beg to disagree. with all due respect to whoever post this. i think that UST is a great team, not only today but in the past. UST have made its mark in the UAAP, but i wont refer them or compare them to chicago bulls(jordan era), i mean chicago bulls then had a league of their own, they are the best during those times. and UST is not like that, they are good and they are one of the best but to compare them to chicago bulls, that’s somewhat too far. i mean not having UST does not mean uaap loses. whoever reach the finals is good.its a win-win situation. i dont mean no harm. this is just my opinion.

I think the De La Salle Lady Spikers will still be the Champions. Only two players were lost from there original champion line up last year. They still have Alarca, Mercado, Cruz, Gohing, and Martinez who has i think really improve a lot that’s why they are the Champions’ the defending Champions plus with their Great Coach Ramil De Jesus. Go La Salle Animo La Salle!!!
