As the local volleyball scene is getting more exposure on TV, the same is true online. There’s a lot of Friendster blogs out there covering the UAAP Volleyball for instance. Multiply and Flickr accounts are piling up with volleyball action photos. Local papers are also covering volleyball tournaments regularly now. Hopefully, more sites will emerge to promote Volleyball in the Philippines.

A new forum website ought to do big for RP Sports - that’s how the web owner opt it to be at the start. As he started a modest and humble dream of helping RP Volleyball reach the consciousness of volleyball players and fans. Saddled by the advent of Volleyball games getting a lot of attention in Philippine Sports and his dire intentions of promulgating the sport to the
millions of Filipinos, he named his creation as RPSPIKERS.TK – all to celebrate the renaissance of RP Volleyball.I was lucky enough to be visiting the site last January 31 as the forum was just 2 days old that time, everything was all but new, handful of threads just started, little replies from the members yet. As I was scrolling down the forum, a personal message appeared at my profile. “Oh, it’s the owner welcoming me.†I whispered. I was in real excitement as I usually don’t find enough time meddling myself to forums. It grew out of curiosity that I returned a message boosting him for a job well done. “This will soon be a fad for sports lovers.†I replied. I was in great awe as I read his reply to me, “all for RP Volleyball.†It paved the way for me to be revisiting the website almost every night (as I have work in the morning) exchanging opinions of forumers from every corner of the country. It was indeed fun as I was laughing to some boisterous posts, getting carried away by a poster who’s a die-hard fan of a particular player and getting cognizant to rival teams. It was nothing but a fun and a learning lesson for me.
The website was a simple collage of great ideas contributed by the owner, moderators and the members itself. Aside from the feeling of having a volleyball community online, it seeks to provide information and be a medium where fans can exchange opinions about the game, the players and some other selected topics. As soon as you become a member, you will be welcomed by the moderators, a good start isn’t it huh? You won’t get an eye strain as you’ll face a cool color of the website. It will draw you more to be visiting the site more and more.

A forum is a community-based website geared towards creating more interaction among its members. All you need to do is create and account and start posting. So if you like interacting with fellow volleyball fans, then check out rpspikers.tk forum.
What I like about rpspikers are the many gimmicks and features they have in the forum. For instance, the more you post comments the more you earn “forum money” which members can use to buy stuff online. They also have a special section called “The Basher Room” which speaks for itself.

I’ve been getting mixed emotions about “The Basher’s Room”. Some people think of it as a means by which the forum promotes bashing. But para sa akin, I think it’s good venue for containing really offensive comments.
@SIOPAO: Grabe, sobrang tawang-tawa nga talaga ako sa mga comments dun. Even my wife couldn’t stop laughing as I read to her yung mga comments. But hanggang dun lang ako. (Kawawa yung mga FEU players and I really feel bad for them.)I refuse to “bash” other people in the same way that I don’t want others to “bash” me. Now that’s my choice.

What I like about the site (www.rpspikers.tk) is that it helps promote the game of volleyball in the country. Malaking tulong ang site to spread the word out there na aside from basketball, Filipinos can have an alternative sport na pwede rin nating mahalin at kabaliwan.
Aside from the site, gusto ko rin ang pamamalakad ng mga moderators at administrators. Very lively ang threads at madami silang pakulo sa mga fans na members na ngayon na volleyball forum community.
I hope and pray na lalo pang lumaki ang rpspikers.tk kasi malaki ang tulong na nagagawa nila para sa volleyball sa bansa. Hope more members will join the community para mas masaya tayong lahat.
