The Finals match between Adamson and FEU is probably one of the most highly anticipated finals in years. Adamson is the only team in UAAP who has never won a women’s volleyball crown while FEU misses the crown for 6 years now.
Incredibly, both teams play the same strategy: to play quick and be patient in defense.
Though FEU has many attackers, Adamson is above FEU in terms of attacking percentage (based on the latest UAAP Daily Bulletin #17). This means that when given sets, Adamson can convert right away be it soft, quick or any kind of attacking ability.
FEU has beaten almost every team in the league except fellow finalist Adamson while Adamson has never beaten dethroned champions UST.
If FEU’s blocking will click, they can pull of some sleeve here while if Adamson will use their advantage in digging, they will have no problem here.
Michaelle Segodine will play a vital role for Adamson because in the past few games, she’s been averaging above 15 points. Same goes for Shaira Gonzalez who played a good game against UST and in their playoff game against Adamson.
Not to mention, the match-up will be between the two best setters and the two best liberos in the league.

wow! what a game!!! im still hoping that FEU might win that game.. but the spirit of Adamson is really amazing…
4th set was almost Adamsons game, but FEU never give up on that set.. Lucky point for MOorada on that last serve, almost a point for Adamson, but with the help of the net, she got the point,.
on the 5th and last set, FEU lost their concentration.. no wonder Adamson easily won that set.
nice game for Semana and Morada though… i hope they can make it on their next game.

Game 1 of the finals was not meant for FEU, because both the men’s and women’s team lost. It was a double black eye for the morayta-based spikers. However, it was an exciting and thrilling game in both ends.
The lady tamarraws were just tight and stiff in their game, you can see in their faces that nerves and pressure were on their shoulders. ADU were relaxed and just playing their best game. The perimeter defense of ADU saved the day for them, because they frustrated all the attacks of FEU especially in the 5th, where they buried them by allowing only to score 7 points, after finishing close in the previous sets. Only one thing was lacking in FEU at the 5th set, is their HEART AND DESIRE to win the match. Just like I said before, MENTAL TOUGHNESS will be a deciding factor who wants to win the championship than the other.
Before the game started, I had a brief chat with Coach Ness. He was confident that they will play better, since they practiced and studied the drop and fast plays, which he adjusted their defensive set-up including their offense. After the match, I asked what went wrong, he just pointed his finger over his heart across his chest with his head shaking in disbelief. I saw his disappointment with the outcome of his team’s performance. I didn’t asked further, because he was really sad and despaired.
My prayer for FEU is to stay focus in their game plan this coming game 2. They have to show their desire to win this championship by one game at a time. They had been beaten 4 times in a row by ADU. I hope they will not close this season winless against them.
To ADU: Congratulations for winning game 1 of this finals. You really played your best game. You are a step a head in capturing your first ever title in UAAP. Good luck! You had proven your detractors that you deserve to be the team-to-beat. CHEERS!!!!!
To both teams: thank you for the exciting and thrilling game. You deserve to be in the finals more than anything else.

ang dapat gawin ng FEU maglagay ng triple block tapos suporta sa likod. Tapos ifacial nila si Laguilles, hehe joke. It’s obvious na quick hits ang nagiging waterloo nila, kahit drop balls lang napapatayan sila ng bola, tsk tsk.
Di ko nga maintindihan eh. In terms of attacking, mas madming attackers ang FEU, and definitely mas may variation sila. Dapat panoorin nila yung laban ng AdU at USTe: super sipag sa blocking ng Tigresses kaya KAHIT ISANG QUICK WALANG PUMASOK. Ang ganda pa ng floor defense ng Adamson kaya dapat puro off the block n lng gawin nila. Diba??? PAg hindi pa nila ‘to macorrect I’m sure everything will end in Wednesday.

I do agree with you. FEU must find a way how to break the floor defense of ADU. Sabi ni Coach Ness before, “huwag natin laban ng lakasan, kailangan gamitan ng dikarte at talino”.
Not only FEU should find a way to play better next game, but they must demonstrate their heart and desire to win the match and the championship. They putting to much pressure on them, which they are not playing their usual game. They should be relaxed and motivated to play and win.
I think, they should stay away for a while from the limelight of the fans and supporters, and focus and concentrate in the game to beat ADU. To much distractions are the reasons for failure.
For the fans: Give them space to regroup and focus in the game, if you want them to capture the title.
ADU is well focused in this finals, because they are not distracted in their game.
