After 2 rounds of eliminations. As of February 10, 2008:
To avoid confusion, the results here show the team rankings after 2 rounds of elimination. As you can see, we have FEU and UST both tied with the same record of 13-1 for Men’s Volleyball. While Adamson, UST, and FEU are all tied with the same record of 12-2 for Women’s Volleyball. According to the UAAP rules, play-off games were necessary to determine the final team rankings. Of course, most of you guys know what happened during the play-off matches. Here’s a recap:
- For Men’s Volleyball: February 13, 2008 at the Blue Eagle gym. FEU defeated UST in 3 sets: 25-18, 25-21, 25-18. Best Scorers were Edjet Mabbayad of FEU with a total of 12 won points and Reny John Balse of UST with 8 points. Game duration: 1hour 10mins. With the win, FEU claimed the No.1 spot while UST settled for the No.2 spot. Both teams having twice to beat advantage going to the Finals.
- For Women’s Volleyball (play-off match#1): Feburary 13, 2008 at the Blue Eagle gym. FEU defeated UST in 4 sets: 24-26, 25-19, 25-15, 25-20. Best Scorers were Rachel Anne Daquis of FEU with a total of 18 won points and Mary Jean Balse of UST with 20 points. Game duration: 1hour 56mins. With the win, UST settled for the No.3 spot while FEU moved on to face Adamson for another play-off match.
- For Women’s Volleyball (play-off match#2): Feburary 17, 2008 at The Arena, San Juan. Adamson defeated FEU in 5 sets: 23-25, 20-25, 25-21, 25-20,15-12. Best Scorers were Rissa Jane Laguilles of Adamson with a total of 22 won points and Macaila Irish May Morada of FEU with 21 points. Game duration: 2hours 17mins. With the win, Adamson claimed the No.1 spot while FEU settled for the No.2 spot. Both teams having twice to beat advantage going to the Finals.

Hi everyone….am so thankful to have found of this site… how i wish i can see all of UUAPs volleyball match-ups most especially FEU’s games…hehehe…love this team especially Rachel… hahaha… RACHEL reminds me of a BRAZILIAN player named LEILA BARROS hehehe…been following LADY TAMARRAWs team for two years now….i hope organizers will push to have a replay of every game on evening… Thank you Spikeithard… Rachel rocks!!! Televised matches later would be UST vs. DLSU and AdU vs. UP. If UST and AdU emerge victorious, then they would be a step away from becoming top contenders. Meanwhile, DLSU would stop their losing streak with a win against UST. As for UP…well mga iska. I predict it would be over in under an hour, so you don’t have to suffer that long.

Wow, di ko ‘lam yun UNAWAKANAHIMO. May second round pa naman, madami pang opportunity to beat USTe.
Meanwhile, DLSU snatched the first set from UST, tapos in a very long extended match, UST bounced back at a score of 31-29. Then they powered through the third and fourth sets resulting in a win. Kinda disappointing, especially because DLSU had the groove early on in the match.
The UP-AdU game was kinda meh.. AdU destroyed the UP floor defense in three sets, though the first set was quite close, 25-23.
I just realized..If FEU wins against UST on Wednesday, then a 6-1 standing for AdU, UST and FEU is possible.

updates please….. yipey my team won again… GO FEU…. am waiting for UST and FEU match up….and am also looking forward to ADAMSON beating UST, i know they can also, as well beat UST, sayang talaga yung kahapon, sana tinalo ng la salle ang ust kasi tinalo na dati ng la salle ang ust last season 68 and it was the their first match up since that time, pero laslle also did a great job… ADAMSON really did well yesterday…i hope its FEU and ADAMSON in the finals…

Problem kasi with UST ang bagal ng start nila. As what the commentators said parang Diesel ang UST, ang bagal ng start nila pero the longer the game gets the better they play. I think other teams should take advantage of this and Adamson is one of them.

FEU had it’s share of defeating UST, especially last season. Kala ko sweep na for UST both 1st and 2nd roundspero behold FEU defeated UST not once but twice: 1 on the 2nd round and the other during the play offs. Kaso nga lang UST overpowered them during the finals. Im pretty sure pinaghandaan ng FEU ang game nila against UST. Good Luck to both

Although Adamson and FEU both share the same record of 5-1 with 11 points each, Adamson is currently on 2nd place due to a higher Points Ratio. FEU is on 3rd place. Just look at the stats
Adamson:
(517 won points / 420 lost points = 1.231 ratio)
FEU:
(502 won points / 438 lost points = 1.146 ratio)

nde ko po sinabi na contender and DLSU.. i was just trying to explain na nde porket natalo ng adu ang feu in 3 sets eh nde na pwedeng manalo ang feu against them.
as you can see, nahirapan ang adu sa dlsu and beat them in 5 sets samantalang 3 sets lang tinalo ng feu ang dlsu..
ganun lang po.. we can’t tell yet kasi nasa mood yan ng mga players, you can’t say din na matatalo ng adu ang ust dahil natalo na nila 3 or four times ang UST. UST beat them in like numerous times na. so it’s all possible..
stat-wise mas mataas ang adu pero realistically anyone can win. tingnan mo yung nangyari sa ssc at ust sa v-league. ssc lost to ust even if they have an almost perfect stats.

I would have to agree with teehee, any team can make an upset. Depende yun sa mga mood ng players, meron talga na off ang playing skills ng isang player. But neverthe less, we just have respect each others opinion. For others it would be FEU or AdU and others pero siyempre para sa akin its UST…hehehe.

The problem is the net, though. That’s why the Lady Falcons use their heads more than sheer brute force against towering teams like DLSU and USTe. But overall, Adamson is a top contender for the crown this season.

The BEST pa rin ADAMSON coz they have the no. 1 setter and digger with SERAFICA and GATA… BENTING, LAGUILLES, GUSTILLO and SO will be leading the team in what they do best, QUICK HITS!!! Sa blocking department lang lower ranked ang Adamson. Also ADAMSON is ranked the no. 1 setting team, no. 3 in one department and the rest they are at no. 2. The UST Tigresses gained confidence in defeating ADMU with 3 sets to love. Their defense (blocks/digs) improved in this specific game after losing one to FEU. Sana they will keep the same game plan kapag nakalaban na nila ulit ang FEU.
Siyempre wala pa ring kupas ang mga middle hits ni Balse, open attacks nina Bernal at Tabaquero siyempre ang opposite attacker na si Torrijos. Let’s not forget the effort of the rookie setter Dimaculangan for being consistent in keeping good plays.
Siyempre sa aking labs na si Denise Tan. (uuuuyyyy!!!) Still in shock when I saw her spiked siguro mga twice. Wow! Mejo nangangapa pa siya because she replaced Mance in the middle blocker position. But she showed better performance compared to her first game as middle man with FEU. Minsan nga naaagaw pa niya yung sets kay Dimaculangan. We can’t blame her. Yung memory ng muscles nya probably nasa setter mode pa. Hopefully, Coach August will still give her time to be trained more in the offensive plays. I think she can contribute more as an attacker/blocker.

I have been a solid fan of UST Lady Tigers. There’s no shadow of a doubt that they are really an offensive team. Although, sometimes, nawawala or naa-out-of-focus sila when it comes to defense. If I were to compare it, in the international scene siguro Russian Team ang kanilang equivalent. Same problems. Yet super solid attacks.
When they think hindi na maganda ang dig minsan hindi na nila hinahabol ang bola. So unlike the Adamson Falcons. They are everywhere in the court. No doubt these two teams are going a head to head battle in the finals.
Ang FEU Lady Tamaraws on the other hand change their mode of playing tactics. Hindi pinalaro si Morada, Daquis was substituted in the middle of the game. At si Semana nilagay ulit sa setting position. First time ko rin nakita si Vivas sa starting line-up.
I think the coach of FEU will bring a different line-up kapag kalaban na ang UST. For them not to be easily read by the tigresses.(Scary!!!)
If UST focused more on offensive defense. Right now ang nakikitaan ko lang nito ay si Balse and Bernal. A little bit of Tabaquero and Torrijos on the side. Pero yung solid floor defense. Siguro kay Jean Balse yun. That is so unlikely because Jean is really big yet her digs were excellent.
May question lang ako sa lahat… Wala pa kasi akong nakikitang 6-2 na laro. Uhmmmm… All players are setters/attackers/blockers. Yung players na nasa backline are assigned as setters regardless of rotation. Which gives 3 attackers on the frontline. Later on, makes it difficult to defense. The only team I have seen that delivers this is Cuba Team. The rest puro 5-1. Russia, Brazil, Netherland. Sa atin kahit Baste, UST and La Salle. Always 5-1. Meaning, one setter all else are attackers. Just asking.

to Chivas Mendez: in the 6-2 set-up, not all the players are assigned as setters when they are at the backline..2 players are designated with the tasks of being an attacker when in the front line particularly the opposite position and as a setter when in the backline..so the two players switch roles when they rotate either to the front line or the back line area…and i agree with you..cuba is, i think, the only international team with this set-up as ramirez, their primary setter, can also attack when in the front line…so when she’s at the backline, she becomes the setter and if i’m not mistaken mesa becomes the attacker on the opposite position…in my opinion, the 6-2 set-up doesn’t necessarily apply on every team as each has its own unique set-up…however, it does have its advantages like what Chivas Mendez mentioned…

I’ve seen d game of tamaraws yesterday, and to my surprise morada is not in the line up. definitely feu prepares for their battle against ust, its interesting to see the quality volleyball actions coming fr. tigers-tamaraws dis coming sunday…further to that ive notice d coach of falcons yesterday she’s shouting with her player like an barbarric,uneducated, it appears actually on d live broadcast how pathetic..hmmm

Coach Dulce Pante is one the league’s most admired coaches (as Sev Sarmienta have said). She has her ways lang tlaga of motivating her players. Sinasabi nga palagi ng mga commentators na she is what they call the “mother-coach” kasi parang ina tlaga kung pagsalitaan ang mga players nya.
If you can remember in the international circuit the during the Grand Prix fame here in the Philippines, the coach of Russia was without doubt the most harsh and fierce coach people have seen. The coach of brazil what also a bit hot-tempered though nothing can compare with the former. The coolest one was Calderon of Cuba.
Mendez: The best 6-2 line up I have ever seen was during the time of Torres, Aguero, Regla Bell, Fernandez, Yumilka Ruiz, another setter which I forgot the name with the legendary Mireya Luis (she known as the player whose every attack is a sure point) on the sides.
Aguero (who was one of the best all around players ever)can pretty deceive the opponent, killing the ball on the second receive instead of setting it up not to mention her superb running spike service.
Regla Bell was a very powerful lefty and an Olympic veteran. Yumilka Ruiz whose staying power is still enjoyed by many today and whose small frame is definitely deceiving (ala Tabaquero). Fernandez was also solid on defense and a knock out punch attack. Their other setter was not as impressive (in my opinion) but she was a good counterpart for Aguero.
But their key player definitely had to be Regla Torres with her regal, striking and imposing figure at the center of the court. Sino kaya hindi maaasiwa dun. She had just been named best player of the 20th century. She gives a solid block and the best running quick attack.
Some interesting tidbits:
Italy and USA just qualified for the Beijing Olympics and guess who is in the line up of Italy Women’s Volleyball Team????
You won’t believe this….Taismary Aguero. Their last match in the World Cup was with Aguero’s former team Cuba 3-0.

Wow!!! That’s shocking. But I must admit if UST is branded as players with class and sophistication, ang Cuba naman, very intimidating, sobrang walang affect. Doesn’t even smile sometimes after a score. Specially nung panahon pa ng Manila Leg (Yung Dalawang Reglas – Belle and Torres) Fernandez, Aguero and etc. Sobrang enraged it’s not even funny.
@otep: Para saken si Izquierdo ang da best (tama ba ang spelling)… big hair, unorthodox services and sharp attitude… hahaha. joke!!! Siguro gusto ko si hmmmm… si Carillo. I guess she is playing the middle blocker nung last na competition. Very smart attacker and may variation ang hits. Also effective in defense.
I like Regla Belle more than Torres. Very down to earth but superb in performance. I remember one time when Torres received a yellow card by a referree due to misbehavior (naughty girl!). I don’t remember kung ano yung details. Pero I remember that particular incident… I know its a sin to compare a middle blocker and an opposite hitter. Pero what the heck!!!
I thank God wala na si Karpol sa Russian Team. Without him sobrang relaxed ang mga girls. (Chachkova my labs!).
Pero nagtataka lang ako. Bakit kaya sina Artamanova, Fernandez and Fofao? Sobrang bangko na sila ngayon. They are still seen in the competitions as bench players. When they are stars in the late 90’s. I feel sad for them…

well, this year may not be the year for DLSU beacause they have many rookies..with it they can”t surely beat, atleast the more seasoned team.. eventhough this is the case, they still gave a good fight knowing their status..
Next year will be quite different…
their best player so far(No. 1 in blocking, No. 1 in serves.. and no. 4 in over all scores) Jack Alarca will be more dangerous and potent..
with the help of Mercado.. well, next season maybe up for the Green archers… Martinez will also gain more experience and so as with regine diego(mozzy actually said she admired diego for her confidence and determination in getting the balls).. until then, 8s good that the Lady archers maintained their championship form…

that’s right meow2x..im a certified graduate of DLSU and their No.1 fan..actually, I’m quite frustrated on their stand ryt now.. but still in every team, there are instances when a team will loose 8s major players with it, losing their championship reign..
still, i go for them and im xure nxt year will be different with what ALARCA is showing.. DATUIN and LLAGUNO will still be around to help.. DIEGO, MAERCADO and MARTINEZ will also mature…

Alarca- no. 1 player in serves and blocks and no. 4 in over-all scoring

DLSU will be a very dangerous team next season…As far as I know, Michelle Datuin is not eligible anymore for Season 71… However, veteran setter Chie Saet and spiker Manilla Santos will be back… Illa Santos has two more years of eligibility in the UAAP and decided to skip this season because of an injury… As for Saet, she skipped this season because she is finishing her course… Alarca, Mercado, and Hernandez still have three more years of eligibility after season 70… Llaguno will be playing her last year in season 71

DLSU would be the team to watch for, for the next season of UAAP, although i am still hoping that they would make it for the final four this season…,
with regards to the Lady Tamaraws, you can no longer afford to lose a match against the Lady Falcons in order for you to meet the Lady Tigresses in championship! one thing more, you have to regain your whipped pride guys! give AdU the dose of their own medicine! it would be great if UST and FEU would meet for the finals. kelangan talagang bumawi ng feu kasi they lost two games sa adamson kasi naman magaling na talaga ang admason this time, mautak kasi sila they dont just rely on powerful hits at masipag din… ang feu ganun din naman pero talagang humina sila the last time they played against adu… i hope they will win again this sunday against ust and will eventually play in the championship round… marami pa namang paraan eh…all they have to do is magsipag pa ng konti para umabot sa championship round… nga pala mga kaibigan…. i dont believe na tsamba lang yung pagkapanalo ng feu against ust….if you guys watched the game of feu vs ust you can truly conclude that feu really stepped up in all aspects and was very prepared.

to jeRRoaNNe: i do believe that FEU won that game because UST had no time to practice with mance being hospitalized the morning before the FEU-UST match..with that, i think that UST had nerves against them as they didn’t exactly know how to adjust with bernal being tasked to be the middle hitter and cu as the new outside hitter…FEU capitalized on that hence, the lady tamaraws were able to defeat UST not without a fight though…come to think of it, FEU should’ve won over UST in 3 sets if they were that good..even with the unusual line-up, the tigresses still fought giving FEU a very hard time winning..regardless of such result, UST will bounce back and prove their supremacy..

I’ve always found the Lady Archers interesting kasi they’re very unpredictable. Plus they’re really giving the Lady Falcons a hard time with their solid blocks. Can’t wait for season 71, but for now nangangati na ko sa rematch ng FEU at UST.

@jeRRoaNNe : Unfortunately, statistics are the only basis on who will be awarded as the league’s best setter… On the part of Wendy Anne Semana, she is being utilized as a setter and spiker that’s why she can’t dominate the statistics in sets… If you are going to look at the stats, Serafica and Martinez tops the statistics because both of them are always being utilized as setters in every game and are seldom being replaced by an alternate one (as far as I can remember, Serafica was only substituted once and ADU was already at match point) … Unlike in FEU wherein April Jose, Anna Camille Abanto, and Wendyanne Semana take turns in setting chores… Same with Karla Bello and Trisha Limgenco in ADMU and Denise Tan and Rhea Dimaculangan in UST

yipey….my team won against ust….magaling ang ust, no doubt about it kaya lang kanina di sila uminit, it was a nice match though…am sure this time di na “chamba” ito hehehe…talagang prepared lang ang feu, napaghandaan…again semana did a great job… mantakin mo she distributed the points among her team mates very well… ang ganda uli ng mahal kong si qaquis hehehe… nakita niyo ang daming tao,,, di mahulugang karayom but when nu and up played nawala,,,hahaha it only proved that feu vs ust is a very interesting game to watch… congrats FEU…

I know UST will bounce back and they need to win all games in order to tie with feu and adu for the first position.see tama na naman ang hula ko,,, nung first round i forecasted na triple tie tapos ngaun at the end of the second round malamang triple tie uli…hehehe…ust will surely try to beat adamson… cant hardly wait for the last game of the 2nd round…adu vs ust…ang ganda ano, feu beating ust, ust beating adu and adu beating feu…hahaha bilog talaga ang mundo,,, i hope lasalle will be in the final four….

anthony, AdU defeated ADMU with a very impressive 3-straight-sets! so obviously, Adu is now on top of the rankings, followed by UST and FEU respectively…, here’s the stats of the AdU-ADMU match yesterday at the Blue Eagles Gym:

once again, wendyanne semana proved her worth as their team (FEU) smashed UST with a 3-straight-sets! we witnessed how the lady tamaraws dominated the first two sets, and never gave the lady tigresses the chance to have comeback during the 3rd set!
each player of FEU contributed an impressing performance which resulted into a victory for their team, while on other hand i could say that only bernal and tabaquero delivered some of the points which were not enough for them to win even a single set. mary jean balse didn’t play well which resulted for their lost.
anyway, the result of the game yesterday left us (supporters/fans/volleyball-lover) guessing if which team (UST/FEU/AdU) would be rank 1,2 and 3 after the 2nd elimination round!
i am really forward for the rest games of this 3 teams especially the rematch of UST and AdU!

Yehey for the UP Fighting Lady Maroons!
Win number 2, baby!
I watched that game, and for me, it was equally as engrossing as the earlier FEU-UST match.
I knew that Danielle Michiko Castaneda, the middle, was good and very pretty, but I did not know that she was also very good in her dscourse. When she was interviewed before the game on TV, she answered the questions very well and articulated her ideas clearly.
Cutey Rebecca Gail Montero, the open hitter, is now my favourite player in UP. She looks so cute and her smile just lights up the room. Her spikes were very good also. And I especially liked her hustle when she was at the back.
The other open hitter, Jolina Rae Hernandez, is also very good. And almost as cute. I like her seriously focused countenance and the cute moles she has on each cheek.
They make me wanna go back to school and perhaps take on another Master’s Degree. I wonder what courses they’re taking up?
When UP lost the first set, I thought, here we go again, another loss. But when they fought back to win the 2nd, I suddenly had hope. And when they finally won the game, I was just raising my arms.
Yippee! Go, go, fight, fight, UP naming mahal!
As for NU, I really like their setter, Jennylyn Reyes. I like her sets and the way she controls the game. She is also, for my money, probably the cutest one in the team.
I could see why they have already managed to win 2 games. They are very solid and seem quite stable emotionally.

It was definitely a lackluster performance for the Tigresses yesterday. Its going to be very difficult for them to duplicate their win against Adamson when the two teams face each other.
Another thing, if the standings remain the same after the 2nd round, they’ll be pitted against their tormentors, the Lady Tamaraws!
I will have to admit that their defense is their liability when facing good teams. They always seem to start slow.
Still, I will stick with them through and through. GO UST!

I’m surprised though that UST is not number 1 in attacks. And further surprised that AdU is number 1 in that category. From watching the games, you would think that UST is best in attacking while AdU is best in counter-attacking.

coach august should have to change his game plans for the lady tigresses so that they could adjust well to the good defense and offense of their major opponents (FEU/AdU). one thing more, tan and dimaculangan must know how to make some varieties for their sets so that they were not be easily anticipated by the opponents. it’s a fact that UST has a lot of great attackers (bernal,balse,tabaquero) but the problem is, there are times that these spikers are unpredictable with regards their previous games…, but in the end, it’s not really the strength and greatness of the teams would lead them into victory, instead, the willingness, determination and oneness of the players is the main motivation for them to deliver a good game!

The rivalry between UST and FEU lives again with the kind of game played yesterday. FEU made a great adjustment by putting wendy semana as their primary setter for consecutive games, I salute the move of Coach Pamilar, since it brought out the best game from his players. Wendy had distributed the ball with tremendous setting to her teammates that executed the C plays, Quick, Slide, and Running plays they had missed from their previous games. Irish Morada always play good whenever she faces UST, without doubt, she and wendy semana have a good tandem because of those converted points and powerful spikes in the middle. Give Morada a couple of years, she will dominate the Middle position and the UAAP womens volleyball. I want to give credit to Gonzales, the other opener, who delivered C-plays down the line whenever she given a good set. If she is only tall as Rachel, she will be the primary Opener of the team. She leaps and glides high, with good shoulder strength , and good approach. For Rachel, she has to improve some skills to be a reliable and dependable open spiker, she needs correct her approach to the ball and must know to TOOL the block whenever she was given a bad set. I hope she will not be the ANNA KOURNIKOVA of the UAAP women’s volleyball. She has to BRING IT ON, for the team to be crowned champions. To Coach Nes, Congratulations to your win, you out coached again coach august. Keep up the good work. PS Your perimeter defense is amazing, no wonder your team is the number 1 in DIGS.

salamat sa info spikeithard! bigla kasing nagpakita yung isa kong friend, nagyaya lumabas kaya di ko napanood yung UP-NU match. Sad lang na ang lahat ng hype ay nakafocus sa top 5 teams, wala masyado nakakaappreciate ng bottom 3 teams.
Some observations:
Carmela Lopez is a middle hitter, but she was turned into a setter! Probably because Nario isn’t up to par. In fairness, it seems she has done a good job with 33 sets. Are we seeing the emergence of a possible wendyanne semana: an attacker/setter? Plus she won the best player of the game award again!!! woooo!!!
I’m really glad that UP avenged their loss to NU. There’s no way they can enter the final four, but I’m seeing a contender for next year.

I do agree with you that WendyAnne Semana is not only the star, but the key of FEU’s game plan. She displayed good court sense and leadership to her teammates. It was good that the coach made adjustments in their rotation, because she is a better setter than Jose and Abanto. If she continues to display the kind of game in her succeeding games up to the finals, I will not be surprised if FEU will win the championship.

as of now, daquis is the only lady tamaraw who’s part of the national team..but i think semana is going to be chosen after what she has shown this season..she’s great in all departments..i’m not sure though if she’s going to be part of the first six if she gets into the RP team because her height is still a factor..skills-wise though, no doubt semana can deliver..

to FEU—xempre matagal ko ng sinusubaybayan si RACHEL ANN DAQUIS…mga 3 years na siguro, she may not be that versatile like BERNAL but she can always find ways to get that ball thru the GIANT BLOCKERS. i find her very impressive each time she play, maganda na may talent pa…hehehe

I think it would be AdU and UST in the finals. Adamson on the first slot beating DLSU and UST on the second slot beating FEU. Adamson and UST have the twice to beat advantage.

Hay, san man lang nakakuha ng isang set ung UP against UST, but no…huhuhu.
Ateneo was ridden with bad luck this season. I think by the way they played today, DLSU would make it to final 4. There’s no way Soriano can carry her entire team, diba? At least she’ll win MVP.
By the looks of it, both teams will have a 7-7 standing after the second round. There’ll be an exciting playoff.

· I think the above line up is perfect…all of them are top scorers, serves well, impressive in blocking, including semana(she can block also, have different style and approach in attacking, receive and dig very well, quick and know what is a smart play, can execute perfect drop shots… I think soriano is perfect for back row attacks, aside from jean balse. only these two ladies executed it well this season…no need for a libero…semana can dig it all hehehe…

If Adamson sweeps off UP and UE and looses from UST in 5 sets, their stats will be as follows:

If adamson sweeps off UP and UE and looses from UST in 3 sets,
won = 38 / lost = 10 / ratio = 3.8

Surely, we will see FEU vs. UST in the semi-finals…either single or two games, the pressure is on to the team on the third spot.
I would have loved to continue with La Salle and ADMU’s stats pero masakit na ulo ko hahahaha.
Again, if stats will be solely based on sets won and lost ha…d rin kasi ako sure if yun lang or the points won/lost are taken into account as well.

if it’s gonna be AdU vs. DLSU and UST vs. FEU in the semis, wont it make the game way more exciting and nerve wracking? hehehe
DLSU can pretty shake off AdU though I think AdU has a different composure this year than the previous seasons.
The blocking of DLSU has been very solid yet their confidence isn’t much consistent. Adamson, on the other end, has been more relaxed and consistent with their games. A lot can be said about their defense and the awesome setting of Serafica.
No offense meant to UST fans but UST has always been known as the team who after a defeat will whip off their next opponents which they failed to do to FEU. Does it say something about the UST tigers?
On the other hand, even if with relatively young players, FEU has shown heart in their games against UST. Semana, without a doubt, has lead a team to a whole new playing field.
UST vs. FEU in the semis will be very much anticipated than the former. Nevertheless, the rivalry, along with the feisty fans, makes the league way way tooooooo exciting.
Will Adamson clinch it’s first UAAP championship title?
Will FEU take revenge against UST and eventually add one more to its long list of UAAP crown?
Will UST tigers still bounce back from the upsets and reign supreme in the end?
Or suprisingly, will DLSU give everyone a shock this year? Will it be a comeback year for them after last year’s suspension?
I can’t wait heheheh… The last time I was this excited watching volleyball was during the rivalry of Cuba vs. the entire world hahahahah.

Even if ADU will get its second loss to UST, by point system or by set quotient, they will still have the top position, and if in case UST will win against ADU, UST will play against FEU for a tie breaker, that is, if both FEU and UST will manage to win its 3 remaining games, having 12-2 with UST.Otherwise, UST will be immediately pulled down to the third position. On the otherhand, ADMU and LA SALLE will most probably experience the same situation for a play off and win the fourth spot, if ADMU cant win its game against FEU and LA SALLE cant win its games also against FEU and UST.

i admit that i am an adamson fan and i love players from other teams as well but as much as possible i try not to criticize anyone coz id rather say good things about someone…especially the physical aspect of the person which is in no way related / significant to how they play…
honestly, i dont mind the smirks and “pagmamaldita” ni segodine as compared to cursing and pag say ng “p**a” at son of a *&^* ng ibang players na very obvious kahit nasa tv. Though medyo mayabang nga ang dating nya minsan pero cmon let’s give her the benefit of the doubt…she might just be too consumed by the intensity of the game..
I have been watching videos of world volleyball sa internet covering games from 1985 to present and they exchange tiger looks…..if looks could kill ika nga. The Cubans were known to be players who by looks alone can intimidate an opponent as compared to Russia’s towering heights.
Let’s stop the bashing and concentrate on the positive things we see….it won’t harm right if we will just be less negative?

I don’t think Tan/Dimaculangan gives that much to Torrijos. She should give her more kasi Torrijos can really deliver.

ganito po ang mangyayari…pag nag ka triple tie, yung team na may pinakamataas na win points over loss points ang pupuwesto sa top spot then the two remaining teams will play the play offs, like ngayun adu is way above the two teams,kung manalo ang ust against ADU, play off sila ng ust pero pag natalo sila third spot kagad ang sa kanila… then ADU and FEU will have the twice to beat advantage…first team will go up against team #4 and Team #2 will play against team#3… then winners of both match will play for the championships.

Let’s all watch the remaining games, especially this coming Sunday. Will UST win over ADU, with their backs against the wall, whether they will go for a possible triple tie or settle for the third position? Will ADMU pull a win over FEU to take the fourth position in the standings and avoid a playoff with DLSU? The last game day of the eliminations will change the complexion of the final fourth standings. I think it will not matter if UST is on second or third place. Alam naman natin kung paano humabol ang UST sa championship slot. Its more than 5 times that they have played in a playoff to secure their championship slot.

ADMU has the biggest task to accomplish, and that is to beat FEU to clinch the elusive 4th spot and avoid a possible play-off game with DLSU. DLSU will PRAY hard to all the saints in the world (especially St JUDE) for a play-off game with ADMU for the 4th and final position in the standings. As you can see, this is how complicated the scenario of the UAAP women volleyball competition. Every game now counts for them to survive and play for another day.

In UAAP, MVP is equivalent to Best scorer. Scores are the points in offensive blocking, attacks and service ace.
And for the Record, Mance of UST is the tallest player now with 6 feet. Ballentyne is just around 5″9 or 5″10.

To all non-UST fans: wag kayong maniwala diyan sa mga ibang UST fans na sinasabing “chamba” lang ang panalo ng FEU. As a Tomasian, of course I’m disappointed na natalo ang UST, especially since that second game was a sweep. Pero I have to contend with the fact that FEU just played better, that’s all. Kung makapagsalita kayong ibang UST fans hindi niya binibigyan ng halaga yung effort sa training ng ibang teams! It’s obvious sa standings na hindi lang UST ang magaling.
Just continue to support our team without resorting to bashing others. Nakakahiya kayo.

My prediction will be ADU vs FEU in the finals. For those people who are annoyed with the UST coach for yelling and uttering harsh words, I will not argue with you if its inhumane. Please remember this; For every victory, the glory goes to the players. For every lost, the blame goes to the coach. Now, if you are the coach of ust, what will you do to motivate your players to put intensity in the game for them to win? Ang hirap talaga maging coach kung ang mga player tinatamad maglaro. Yan po ang dahilan kung bakit mababa ang laro ng UST itong 2nd round. Madali sila mahawa sa kalaban. Laro na, linalaro pa. Kung kayo napapanuod ang ust 10 years ago, bago sila nagchampion ulit, di hamak mas magagaling ang mga player noon kaysa ngayon. Ito trivia: Sa huli championship bago nakaraan taon, ang huli set score UST vs. FEU ay 15-0. Yan ang bunga ng displina ni coach august sa mga players niya, kaya nila izero ang kalaban. Ipagtanong niyo sa mga referee at coaches ng ibang team.

These are the possible scenarios after the games on sunday. Which is the one that you guys want to happen?
a) if UST and FEU will win on sun., the standings will be:
AdU 12-2
UST 12-2
FEU 12-2
DLSU 7-7
ADMU 7-7
>>There would be a triple-tie on the top 3 teams and the one who has the most number of sets won will get the number one seed and will face the winner of the knockout match between ADMU and DLSU in the semis, while the other 2 teams will have playoff for the number 2 seed(and the twice-to-beat advantage) and they will also face each other in the semifinals..
b) if UST and ADMU will win on sun., the standings will be:
AdU 12-2
UST 12-2
FEU 11-3
ADMU 8-6
>>UST and AdU are tied for first and have a playoff match (both already have twice-to-beat advantage). The winner of that playoff match will face ADMU while the loser faces FEU in the semis.
c) if AdU and FEU win on sun., the standings will be:
AdU 13-1
FEU 12-2
UST 11-3
DLSU 7-7
ADMU 7-7
>> ADMU & DLSU will have a knockout match, the winner of which will face AdU(which has a twice-to-beat advantage)in the semis while UST will face FEU in the semis(with FEU having the twice-to-beat advantage).

i know ust will play hard on sunday against adu…and they will try hard to once again win the championship like they did last season against feu…they can still catch but i hope feu will play harder than ust… whether ust will win or lose on sunday, these two powerhouses will still meet up for the second seed…am really crossing my fingers, am hoping that feu will perform more than the way they did when they defeated ust in their last two match ups…

The only team to have a seventh player on the team to make it to the top 50 is FEU with:
Cabanag at 44th with 30 pts.
If you can observe, both Adamson and FEU are really working as a team that if one player gets a bad game, the others could step up (basing on the distribution of their points).
This is not the same case though as UST relies much (with their power attacks, who wouldn’t though) on Balse, Bernal and Tabaquero. The other ladies need to pour out more points as well.
Also, the switch between Dimaculangan and Tan could pretty well shake up UST. I’m not too sure but I think Tan’s confidence will definitely drop considering that she had been sitting on the bench most of the times (I love her but am just being objective). I just hope that the memory that Tan set their way to the crown last season will not be lost.
Adamson has been lording over all other teams. If you will look at the minutes played between Adamson and the other teams, they got most of the shortest time played except of course UST and DLSU. However, they might just feel the pressure of being at the top and might get just too relaxed on their games.
FEU, on the other hand, has been playing full force when it matters. As the season goes full swing, FEU gets even better and stronger. However, in their games against AdU, they have fallen twice in three straight sets…which still remains an enigma.
What’s in store for the three teams?
FEU has more young players compared to the other top two teams. Whether or not they will win this year, they will surely be a top contender in the coming years.
Adamson has never wore a UAAP crown. Will it be this year is what the girls are heavily working on. They have been a force to reckon with despite having a small line-up but their defense has lead them at par with the top teams. Most of their starters are still playing next season, so we will see.
UST has recently been lording major leagues. Height combined with skill and power proved to be too strong for most of the teams. But the question is, if Balse and Bernal will move on, will their claws be still sharp and the growl be as strong?
So who will win this year?
I would love to see Adamson get it. First would be sweet.
It would be sweet revenge for FEU not to mention continue their solid tradition.
It would be memorable for Balse (if true that this is her last playing season), probably one of the best to grace the court.
So who will win again?
It will be the TEAM with the most heart.

I’m new to this sport. There are a lot of aspects in basketball that are the same with volleyball.
I believe UST is already equipped in terms of scorers. Three from them is in the top 10 scorers.
It’s very rare to see a powerhouse team in any teamsports with 3 players in the top 10 of a league.
If they will be scattered to different schools. Bernal may be runaway in the statistics with Balse and Tabaquero contending against her.
Even the other players who have not yet reach their time, will be given a chance to step up in the coming seasons. Their raw talents and potentials are ahead compare to other players of other schools.
IMHO they are a dynasty in the making.

I want to make history for Ateneo.â€this is what miss charo quoted and did comment when she was interviewed a few days ago, she really is a humble and a down to earth person even though she deserves to get that award for being the best scorer in the volleyball league this season. this atenean girl i think likes to get that trophy not just by herself alone but as a team,even this girl always get the scores inside the court she remain humble and simple. i hope and encourage her team mates not to leave her behind inside the court, volleyball i think is a team situation so pls push yourself to the limits. i also hope that bea pascual well be well soon from injury she is a big factor and help to that team, her absence will put that team in a slow motion but charo is still there so i think they can survive and climb this highest hill. ballentine i think is a little bit slow when playing inside the court she should practice killing, jumping and down stroke smashing that ball, if ever iba and mapili n mvp this season charo should not worry coz many of her fans still wants to recognize her as the true mvp if you want a proof see her scoring stats and profile in uaap records,gud luck ateneo keep improving there are always room for improvement, bye?

I really wish and hope that ateneo will be in the final four this season before charo ends up his school yrs in ateneo and before her playing term expires.SHes been playing with this team for more or less 4 yrs. Charo contributed a lot not only in this team ateneo but also in the uaap womens volleyball as whole ,she is a big factor on why this game is alive and continue to shine this season, this sports is now being been recognize by most of the people, they are starting to watch in their tv homes, even see it live in ateneo gym, volleyball fanatic person started to cheer for their favorite team and players, so charo is one of those player who really helps this sports known and famous in this era now.Charo’s fans also get to noticed/appreciate her sportmanship inside the court, she is a very nice/smart person, she scores/plays relentlessly but yet remain to be a humble person,she also quote†that she want to give something in return/back to ateneo who taught and supported her in one way or another and in many things she accomplish right now. charo really is a model volleyball player right now and nice person to look into. i hope this girl will not stop playing volleyball because she had so many admirers and avid fans outthere who wants to see her playing volleyball inside the court . i also hope that Phil sports commission will create a proffesional volleyball team or philippine volleyball association where bussiness owners/proprietor can indorse their bussiness product and can able to sponsor a team like for example creating womens volleyball for purefoods team, alaska milk volleyball team, san miguel beer volleyball team, and talk and text phone pal volleyball team.This can be achieve and possible thru advetisement and aired product indorsement,where this college player can be given an opportunity to play after their playing terms in colleges and universities expires. Palakas na ng palakas ang mga teams sa 2nd round. ADU defeating FEU in 3 sets, FEU defeating UST in 3 sets, and NOW, UST defeating ADU in 3 sets as well. sobrang exciting na ang labanan.
ADU stays on top and UST and FEU will have a play-off for 2nd seed this wednesday. I hope both teams will play well. they will still meet in the semis as the #2 and #3 teams. ang pinaglalabanan na lang eh yung twice to beat advantage.. na hopefully makuha ng UST!!
On the Men’s Division, UST and FEU will have a play-off for the first spot and ADU remains #3. This will be on wednesday as well. I hope UST loses this time para makalaban nila ADU sa semis.. based on the previous games kasi mas close match ang UST vs UP. So mas madadalian sila kung ADU ang makakalaban nila on their way to the finals. tutal wala naman kaso kung 1st o 2nd kasi pareho naman may twice to beat advantage.

about the thing with Segodine, plagay ko ganun lng tlga cxa, i find her amusing and humorous. nakakatawa din ung reactions nia.. pero palagay ko di naman cxa mayabang.. ganun lng tlga mga facial expressions nia.
UST fans wag naman kayo magpaka impokrito.. may yabang din naman ang mga players ng USTE.

si tabaquero pa lang ang nakikita ko nagyabang sa UST.. pero yung yabang nya namemewang lang.. nde sila nanduduro.. nagmamake face, at nde nila pinagtatawanan yung mga faults ng kalaban, dito expert ang FEU. Ito rin yung nakita kong reason kung bakit nagtrashtalk ang ADU sa UST, kasi yung last game ng UST versus FEU, sobrang nawala talaga yung laro ng UST dahil sa trashtalk ng FEU. Feeling ko tinry lang ng ADU yung ganung tactics kung gagana. Personally nakakainis ang trashtalking pero it’s part of the game, good thing nde nagpadala ang UST sa ADU kasi nga nde naman talaga trashtalkers ang ADU. nde katulad pag FEU, magngingitngit ka talaga sa galit pag nagtrashtalk. hehehe.. anyway i hope ADU will not resort to this kind of tactics in their next game. kung malakas talaga sila kaya naman nila e.

wow feu vs ust for both mens and womens volleyball on sunday….gandang laban nito….mga fans ng volleyball ok lang yang trashtalk, normal lang siguro wag lang magsakitan ng pisikal. isa pa i dont believe na nagtatrashtalk ang mga player natin, yeah we heard them shouting everytime they get a point but its a strategy, if you cant beat your opponent because theyre too strong and powerful then attack them thru other way like shouting… it will somehow make some changes on how they play…

ugh!!! ateneo lost to the jologistas yesterday (feb 10, 2008)!!! well, it’s okay. ateneo has nothing to lose. the jologistas need it badly because they come from a low performing school. hahaha! heads up ateneo! feu lang sila…where is that ghastly school located anyway??? who cares to know!!! obviously, soriano, bello and company gave feu an easy time. it was so easy to see. they gave the game away and this is of course not obvious to the pea-brained feu community. hahaha!!! and the feu monkeys thought they were so good! if they only knew where they stand in the mind of an atenean! and do you guys notice how feu is such a copycat??? it’s the only school in the uaap that lacks creativity and novelty! they copied la salle’s green motif, ust’s gold motif and up’s alibata-like letterings! it just shows how insecure feu students and the whole community must be about their school. can’t it have it’s own identity? it keeps borrowing ideas from other schools and this is flattering who they imitate! hahaha!!! poor, poor jologistas!! pity!!

What UST did was, display of Talent at Work!

Fame may be earned through statistics. Statistics are nothing. It can be earned through hardwork. Talent is everything. It can never be taken away from you. All you have to do is to utilize them well.
UST is not no. 1 in the blocking department in terms of statistics. But if we set aside stats, and if they use their height and might they can prove that they are the league’s best.
I know UST is still capable of defending the title. I don’t look on how each game is being played or based their strength in statistics.
I never doubt the capabilities of Denise even their team defense in spite of what happened during the elimination. They are ahead in terms of individual talents.

We saw how dominating a powerhouse team who capitalizes on their talent for the first time this season. The attackers of Adamson have been inefficient against the defense of UST forcing them to overhit the ball many times to avoid UST blockers.
Even their setter looks like a high school player everytime she engages a joust against the frontlines of UST.
It’s just the individual talents of UST that was not being capitalized before, (pertaining to the questions about their defense before) that made the difference.
I admire Adamson for earning their spot through hardwork.
Volleyball is a team sport and Adamson plays well as a team.
They are strong contender in the finals.

You guys, no question about it. UST outplayed the Lady Falcons. It wasn’t an exciting game actually, but it was interesting how the Tigresses improved.
Denise Tan’s performance was excellent compared to how she played all season. She really deserved the best player award. In addition to that, Torrijos (my favorite Tigress) played well too. She has good defense and her attack is improving. So happy.
Congrats UST! Let’s see if you can finally avenge your losses to the lady Tams. can’t wait.

charo I think is very young really to be working after her season in uaap.I think she should enjoy at the penacle of the sports shes into,shes now very popular in womens volleyble in this era now, she should grab every opportunity at hand, she could earn more from indorsement and commercials, she can even help the Philippine Nat’l Team elevate on the top in womens volleyball asia. Working after graduation can wait, but being a volleyballplayer while you were still young was i think a experience and adventure for once in a lifetime and a rare opportunity for a person to achieve.So to Miss charo Soriano-we,your fans are looking forward to see you play in the future after your graduation, you make us happy and interested in watching volleyball live and even in our tv sets, we hope to see you soon in v-league conference next year or even in 2010, we enjoy watching you in the court and tv interviews you had for the past couple of months. I’m studying in Ateneo but I came from La Salle in high school. It is disappointing to see that there are what we call “posers” or feeling or social climber.
Ateneans are not like that. Ateneans don’t act that way. To the FEU fans, sorry if this certain poster did you harm. Don’t change your point of view towards us.
FEU and Ateneo are the best of friends since a lot of their volleyball players would always chit-chat before or after the games especially the Women’s of FEU and the Men’s players of Ateneo.
Likewise, FEU and Ateneo are allies in the UAAP. Never was a time that a riot or certain fight occurred between them. In basketball, both schools respect one another. There’s always peace between them, I don’t know why.

hello everyone. Naisip ko lang, if all wins of DLSU were forfeited, then it should be right also that all sets they won after January 15 (even if they lost the game) should also be forefeited, right?
In this case, the (win/loss) point-ratio will definitely change especially in the standings of ADU, UST and FEU.
Could somebody clarify this matter. I could be wrong.

of course you can’t see Segodine as mayabang because you’re a fan. Ganun din ang UST fans kay Balse. Ang UST talaga pag nagtatawanan sa court matakot ka na, kasi ibig sabihin nasa mood sila, mataas ang confidence level nila pag ganun. ganun ang style nila maglaro, it doesn’t mean na pinagtatawanan nila yung opponent nila.
Isa pa hinde lang height ang advantage ng UST, malakas talaga sila. Kasi kung height lang ang pag-uusapan bakit yung DLSU at yung UP kayang talunin ng ADU?

i hope feu can win this time, i know UST can play very well even in hard, tough times, and under pressure, they need to win this match to prove that they still deserve the championship, but if FEU will going to play and show what they did on their last two matches with the latter, and be even wiser, more quick and smarter, and add more combinations on their attacks, be more excellent in floor defense, and try to block evrytime the opponent is attacking and always have high confidence on their abilities, i think they can still beat ust, and i also think that upto these days FEU is the only team in the UAAP that does have the power to beat UST, and it is proven may times… am crossing my fingers on wednesday warfare…i hope that may favorite team perform well and even better…
am really praying for them to win and am not going to work just to watch the game hehehe… thats how i love my team and thats how i trusted them…

if only laborte, pascual, and Intuan are now playing with ateneo in season 70, for sure ateneo is a hard to beat team and charo will have a lot of support specially Intuan who is in great shape.go ateneo

Sayang talaga ang pagkawala ni Pascual… Ateneo will be far better than what they are right now if only Pascual is present. Nung simula ang galing ng ateneo, parang rocket ang improvement,progressive ang laro pero nung nawala si Pascual biglang nag slow ang pacing….sayang talaga…. Kasi kung nagkataon na nagplay off sila ng La Salle, maybe talo sila,,, malamang…. Sayang din si Jac Alarca at ang buong La Salle team… mas exciting next year kasi am sure magagaling na lahat ng team…

wow…. my team won again…they did it again, they outplayed ust…wow, sayang lang kasi talo in the first set, although feu came out strong pero humina on the later part but it was still very exciting kasi 26-28 with ust winning the first round. after that exciting round the next three set was a demolition…with feu not giving ust a chance to catch up…pero yung excitement na nagawa ng game nato grabe…kawawa naman si tabaquero at denis tan, nafacial although nagsorry naman si Daquis, and i can see it that she felt sorry and worried… sana maulit muli hehehe…. galing ng team ko three straight match up against ust naipanalo nila….next game will be feu against adu for placing #1 and #2 spot, ust will sit on the 3rd spot…i hope feu will win this time against adu, if feu will win this they will go against the #4 team admu and i think they can do it well… para adu vs ust…whoever wins will meet up the #1 team for the championship… may pag asa pa ang uste for the championships…lahat possible hehehe…. both feu and adu have the twice to beat advantage already…yipey,,,am so happy hehehe….malapit na…sana mag champion na ang feu this time around para champion sa mens at womens,,,hehehe,,, galing talaga ng feu,,, they all came out strong,,,once again semana did a very excellent job in setting, dunking, attaking and even in digs…wow,,, th best all around player…she distributed well all her sets,,, earlier i was able to witness the best semana…grabe… Daquis and Morada also played a very good job…Daquis grabe,maganda na at galing pa,,, abanto also did a good job in helping wendy ann… Cafranca perform her job in the middle very well… ulitin niyo pa….

you did not get the point on what i have quoted a few days ago,regarding “if only laborte, pascual, and Intuan are playing with ateneo in season 70, ateneo would be hard to beat team” let me help you comprehend on what i mean on this quotation-This is what it is: Last May 2007,I saw this 3 great players playing with ateneo in shakeys v -league versus ust, together with charo in my search in you tube, now it appears that during that conference ust are having a hard time beating ateneo inside the court when the presence of this 3 players are in that team ateneo, even laborte is not from ateneo and intuan is a guest player from thailand, theres nothing wrong making comparison if this girl are playing with ateneo in season 70, since it is only a comparison, the fact that they play for ateneo in shakeys v league, any person can perhaps come into a conclusion , that if only this three girls are present in season 70 ateneo would be a hard to beat team, be guided on the word “if”-which means i am just hoping and wishing in my quotation which is actually true if only this 3 girls played in ateneo, am i right?do you agree? . if you want to see how this 3 girls played in shakeys v league last may 2007 you can search in you tube, just type charo soriano and from there Intuan laborte and pascual will appear at the same time, this is just a complement and a clarification on my last statement thanks, go team ateneo.

Si Maizo failed some subjects that’s why she is not included in the line-up. Lilet Mabbayad was removed from the team because she doesn’t want to attend school and trainings. She only appears in trainings and practices when she wants to. In short, primadonna attitude of a star player. UST doesn’t need this kind of a player. Maizo has to double time to pass all her failed subjects if she wants to play again for UST. All these information came from one of the coaching staff (from the horse’s mouth).

Hence, the answer to “IF ONLY laborte, intuan and pascual is in the team…”,
is
“Unfortunately”, they’re not from ateneo, Intuan is from thailand, Laborte is non-atenean and is an assistant coach, so they can’t play in UAAP.
Anyway i agree with you, Laborte was one of my favorite guest players in shakey’s v-league, along with cherry macatangay, michelle carolino and rox pimentel of course. And Intuan i think is far better than Kesinee when it come’s to attacks.

I do hope FEU wins sa play-off.. kasi if that happens.. mas madadalian sila sa kalaban nila, which is Ateneo. On the other hand, ang makakalaban naman ng UST ay ADU, na natalo na nila twice. hehehe. kasi kung FEU will place 2nd, sila ang kalaban ng UST. 3 times na nga sila tinatalo ng FEU tapos may twice to beat advantage pa ngayon.. naku talaga..

MY TEAM LOSS TO A BETTER TEAM YESTERDAY, I MUST ADMIT THAT FEU REALLY IMPROVED A LOT, I GUESS WE CAN NEVER REALLY HAVE IT ALL, WE WON AGAINST ADU BUT LOSS TO FEU. BUT I KNOW THAT THIS IS NOT THE END OF EVERYTHING, HINDI PA NAMAN CHAMPIONSHIP EH, LETS HOPE FOR THE BEST BUT ALSO PREPARE FOR THE WORST.
CONGRATS AGAIN TO THE LADY TAMS! YOU DESERVE THAT WIN!! UST HAS BEEN INCONSISTENT THIS SEASON, I WISH THEY WILL STILL BE ABLE TO GET BACK TO THE OLD UST BEFORE ITS TOO LATE.

That’s good to hear that you prioritize your studies over volleyball. If you want to continue and improve your game in volleyball, and decide to play serious and competitive type of volleyball in the collegiate level. Only two schools you must choose — UST or FEU, these schools have the best volleyball programs and considered the bitter rivals in the UAAP. Where ever you go, either UST or FEU, I sure you will be a better player in the near future.

kung nag-offer ateneo or dlsu, i suggest na isa run ang tanggapin mo.
though it is true that UST and FEU have good volleyball programs and “bitter rivals” in UAAP women’s volleyball, i think ateneo and dlsu have more room in their lineup for up-and-coming talents, plus, their volleyball programs have received huge boosts in recent past. just checkout the improvement in the way ateneo plays, and dlsu was champion for sometime until they were suspended last season.
just my two-cents’ worth.

hi joy, hope you continue your plans in playing volleyball and earn a spot in a varsity team in UAAP. Having scholarship in a University is a big help in your education. All the things you need as a student will be given to you.
Mukhang idol mo mga taga-ust malay mo maabutan mo pa at makasama mo na yung mga idol mo sa dorm pag nakuha kang player.
I encourage you to continue playing malaking tulong yun sa education.

actually ganito yan, nung elem ako varsity ako. pero nung nag first highschool na ko, nagtransfer na q ng skul.. kaya mdyo nahihiya pa me magjoin sa varsity team. kasi malaking school din dito sa laguna ako napasok, kaya ngayon third year na ko, tska pa lang ako ngttry out. team b pa lang ako. . pero sana, maging open spiker din ako. like angeli tabaquero(haha! idol ko siya) nakita ko na siya and ang tangkad nia.. pero maaabutan ko na din, 5′4 po kasi ako. .ikaw? siguro matangkad ka talaga. what height mo? pagdasal nio na makapasok ako sa varsity team namin.. para advantage sa college. dhil sa scholarship..

am happy of what i saw yesterday, sayang nga lang, pero FEU tried hard though, kung sinipagan pa nila panalo sana, pero adamson really did well, no chance for FEU-UST in the finals, kasi sana kung naitalo ng FEU and ADU, may malaking chance na may FEU-UST uli sa championship… ang nangyari kasi ngaun ADU vs ADMU at FEU vs UST, ang panalo sa dalawang laban ang may papasok sa championship round, sayang talaga pero adamson deserve the championship also… what they did yesterday was spectacular, they never gave up which is why they won the last three sets… galing… sana maipanalo uli ng favorite team ko ang laban nila on wednesday, anyway twice to beat sila…Go FEU, at kung sakali naman na maipanalo nila i hope they can beat ADU na…hehehe

well, this is hard.. considering the fact that when La Salle Schools meet, they really give it their all in the game..
DLSU Taft is not the powerhouse it was 4-5 years ago..(Trivia: before FEU has its current 3-peat, DLSU was the champion in men’s volleyball, along with the women’s team; and FEU faced DLSU in the championship to win the 1st of their 3-peat).. Hopefully they regain back their crown in the years to come..
As for your question, I think it will be a close call between Benilde and Dasma followed very closely by Bacolod, then a tie between Taft and Lipa

I cant hardly wait on sundays match up…am truly happy that my team made it to the finals… i can still remember the time uaap womens volleyball started, it was actually adamson vs ust, i am on ADU side that time and will always be because i like them but my favorite and my only team is FEU, i really wanted ADU to win that time but unfortunately they loss on a 5 setter match, ever since i really dont like UST, i know they are very good, UST is a powerhouse but i just dont like to be on their side, maybe because i know that even they will lose they will still remain to be on top and maybe because i know that they have coveted consecutive titles in 2007 already. UST has showed their dominance in volleyball for quite sometime now and they have produced very talented players that are now members of the national team but this time they lost. just like that they lost, they are not perfect and no one can afford to be on top always whether you like it or not, you will be replaced again and again, no matter how good you are and no matter how you perform in the past, someone will try to replace you and enjoy that moment you once enjoying and thats what happened to UST. FEU was always been good for me, always in the top4 but i think its their time replace UST, i am not discounting the talent of ADU but i think FEU has the potential to win this season, i am happy though that the team i like and the team i love ,made it to the championship, will be happy if ADU will win but will be more than happy if FEU will get the title this time, i think they are the most deserving team to win. Last year they were in the same position, but unluckily UST won and am really hoping that they will really do their job at their best because ADU is a very good team now, maybe if hannah suarez is present on their team replacing jill gustilo,no doubt they will win the championship.

So I intentionally created the poll that way kasi I wanted to find out how people would react. And sad to say, it seems “bashing” is something normal to most fans. Tsk! Tsk! You said it yourself, nangunguna pa rin yung option na yun even though we are both expecting that people should be “uncomfortable” choosing it. (I constantly have to study and analyze the Spikeithard crowd so I would know how to improve this site based on what kind/type of people go to this site.)
I also do know that you are Go_UAAPTeams_Beat_UST so if you make the deductions, then this means who were routing for either La Salle or Ateneo? Tama ba?
