DAQUIS:she never helps in floor defence,she lets her smaller teammates do the digging,because they can really sprint for the ball,even if the ball will land near DAQUIS,other players will get it for her beacuse she does the attacks.even if they failed to get the ball,they’ll not blame DAQUIS coz they know its not her job to save balls and is their fault for being slow.
TAGANAS:distracts the opponent,does the dirty work..
MORADA:she raises the bar for the team,shell show her teammates how much you should work in the game. i the opponent is strong.shell show her teammates that were strong too and we can match them.
CAFRANCA:”ms. tough girl” her determination never wavers
SEMANA:”the kamikazee girl”she’ll do anything from spiking to splitting her body in four ways just to win the game,she’s just so fantastic.
ABANTO:”the alternate setter”self explanatory,she’s the tibo in the team,she scares the opponent na if they lose to them,she’ll gulpi gulpi them in the backstage..

..2 setters gameplan-everytime semana assumes her job as a setter,abanto forgets that she is now a spiker,she will not be able to back off a bit for a spike so whenever semana gives her a ball,she’s out of postion,that’s why she cant hit the ball hard..this fixed,FEU will really be a very deadly team..

Hmmm… and I thought it was the Lady Falcons who are displaying the best teamwork in the league right now. But Adamson would always just fall short when playing against UST. Now since FEU defeated UST several times already, does this imply that FEU should be far superior over Adamson?

well…the good thing here is that we see a lot of action this year…it means that the volleybal spirit is back agin…
imagine, 3 teams in the same standings? quotient lg pinagkatalo.
i commend feu for having such strong attackers though they are rookies..well,we all know that ust is a very strong team, but i think feu has got new strategies and plays..they have more quick spikers than open..it’s a very big advantage..where as uste, though they have balse and bernal, who’s got only one quicker (balse).
idagdag pa natin si SEMANA and ABANTO who are both setters but spikers as well..feu’s defense is better than uste..i think curato is not yet ready being a libero..(may libero bang nakatayo pag-dig ng bola?) i have nothing against her, pero it’s a tough job to be a libero (hindi ito “libero lang?”)…
good reception makes good play…or the best even.

sa top 3 teams, adu ang may mga pinakamaliit na players, FEU tama lang, UST matatangkad. That explains why Adu has the best floor defense but weakest offense, UST has the best offense (and defense in terms of blocking) but is having difficulty in digging. FEU is just right, they are good both offensively and defensively. they can be quick as adamson and as strong as UST.

this is also the probable reason why ADU loses to UST, they can dig most of UST attacks but can’t produce points. Most of their kills are off the block.

When FEU and ADU meet, ADU has the better floor defense and quicker attacks so they can produce points since FEU players are not that tall for blocking.

FEU has been winning their games versus UST since they can be as quick as ADU and they can spike through UST’s wall. They can also dig most of UST attacks.

just an observation though..

if the trend continues (UST winning against ADU winning against FEU winning against UST) ADU will definitely win since they won’t be meeting UST.

The game of FEU is raising to a level no team can beat them. The only thing that will defeat them, will be there overconfidence. As to strategy and tactics, they are superior compared with the other teams. They are the only team in UAAP (I think) is using a 6-2 format. It’s a good thing that a lot of people are taking a great notice on how FEU emerge in this season even they are in the rebuilding process and a change in the coaching staff. I looking forward to Shaira Gonzales, Irsih Morada, and Vivas in the next season, because these players are promising with fast improvement in their game. Vivas who is still recuperating from a right arm injury, but I can tell you, this girl will be one of the main factor in the FEU’s offense and defense when she is fully recovered and well conditioned to train. She can replace cafranca in the middle block position or be secondary outside hitter when she is 100% already. By next year, you will all see how this girl will dominate UAAP. She has the height, the leaping ability, and a strong shoulder strength. Also, Shaira Gonzales will be a major key in the FEU’s line-up, she can play the middle or the outside hitter position. She demonstrated a heart and mind of a veteran in her first year in the team and UAAP. Most people, who understand the game, noticed this girl’s kind of game and are amazed how she moves in the court as if she’s not a rookie. I hope she will be the rookie of the year for this season. Thanks to the scouting of the coaching staff of FEU that they were able to find fine and strong players to replace those who had finished their playing years in UAAP. The FEU dominance is inevitable with these kind of players in the years to come….

Let’s not forget the persons who trained and molded these players to their betterment, and that will be Coach Ernesto Pamilar and Kidd. These people should be credited for the way FEU is playing now. Guys, I salute you for believing your girls can make it this far even lacking the height. This is one thing for sure, FEU WILL REIGN AGAIN IN UAAP WOMEN’S VOLLEYBALL……….

ADU played a tremendous game through a come from behind victory. Cheers!!!! and Congratulations to your win, you deserve the top position.

It was a game worth watching all over again, because it’s the first time I saw FEU got frustrated in their offense and defense. ADU didn’t even respect the spike of Daquis, gonzalez, semana, and abanto, because they didn’t put their blocking but relied on their tremendous floor defense, which they converted it into their quick attacks that caught the FEU defense flat footed. They frustrated the spikers of FEU to a point that all their hard driven spike were just like off speed or tip. They gave FEU a dose of their medicine — a good perimeter defense. Now, we can say that ADU is the match team for FEU, because they defeated them three times in a row. But this is the more exciting game between them. I saw how Daquis got tired and lost her focused in the game which led to her to be substituted in the 5th set. FEU was so near to victory, but came short to achieve it.

To all the solid and fanatic fans of FEU, let’s accept that we lost to a better team (ADU) today. We just lost a battle, not the war.

Sa bawat panalo, may kagalingan. Sa bawat pagkatalo, may dahilan. Daquis and Morada are under the weather, they are not 100% going in today’s game. Both are suffering from colds that made them difficult to play. They had been sick since Friday after their training. The coaching staff decided to let them seek medical consultation, and probably to be admitted to recuperate from such sickness. To all the fans of these players, pray for their immediate relieve from their sickness. On wednesday, they will be facing the Tigers in The Arena (My gosh, ang mahal pala ng entrance doon). They requested the management of the Arena to lower the airconditioned, because the players are finding difficulty adapting to a cold environment.

Congratulations again to the ADU team, you deserve the win regardless how did you achieve it. You played the best game. CHEERS!!!!!!!

A lot of people knows and noticed how the men’s play volleyball. It is really a challenging game. Malakasan ang laro ng mga lalaki. Kung mayroon women’s team kasi calibre ng men’s team maglaro, katulad ng FEU, sigurado Champion agad. Kaso sa panahon ngayon, di na natin makikita ang isang team katulad ng mga lalaki maglaro, baon ang mga palo, di petchayan. Jump serve, digs, dolphin dive, sprawl, at mga dungaw sa net. Noong araw may roon, pero ngayon puro pagandahan na lang ang labanan. hehehe

Women’s volleyball are exciting and thrilling to watch because skill wise, pantay lang sila. Breaks of the game lang nagkakatalo. Katulad kanina, 2 sets ahead ang FEU, biglang nalumo sila at pinaabot ng 5th set. Lumabas ang kahinaan ng FEU kung humahaba ang laro. Kailangan magpakondisyon sa mga susunod na araw, at sigurado maghaharap ulit sila ng ADU.

ADU is just waiting for the UST-FEU match. Do we need to know who will win between ADU and ADMU? Hope for the best and prepare for the worst for ADMU. See you next season… Being in the final four is an achievement for the ADMU. Kung sa American idol nga, “It’s end of the road even it haven’t started yet”. hehehe!!!!

just an opinion:

hmmm…Adamson showed how important that game was.they believed and trusted each other. they kept holding for the ball.indeed, they are the best defensive team in the league. FEU was so strong, but why do they let MORADA get so tired?
We wanna see Rachel Ann Daquis on defense, more varieties of attacks..nevertheless, FEU shows magificent plays and strategies.

on the 3rd set, morada got so tired kaya kulang napalo db? well, andun nmn sa cafranca, shaira, daquis..let them kill the ball as well…for the two “setter-spikers” so far,they’re doing an excellent job, lalo na si wendyanne..she’s so smart..just distribute the ball evenly para di mpapagod ang ibang spikers…para til’ the end may lakas pa..

for AdU, let’s give a round of applause for Mich Segodine…she proved everyone that she’s a pride of the team.so critics, go away…hehehehe..taong ko lang, was she interviewed after the game? i didntnotice kasi eh…or bka nailipat lng ung channel sa haus..

Serafica….wow…if would ever come back to play volleyball, and have the privilegeof choosing my setter…it would be J. sayang talaga UST… i feel na kung naglaro this year c mabbayad, baka may chance sila na ma sweep yung elimination round or makapasok s finals… may problema talga cla sa middle blocking kc mabagal p c mance magreact s mga palo..

i think FEU has what it takes to be the champion this year.. nawala lang yung angas nila nung end part ng game kya na unahan cla ng ADU…

am happy of what i saw yesterday, sayang nga lang, pero FEU tried hard though, kung sinipagan pa nila panalo sana, pero adamson really did well, no chance for FEU-UST in the finals, kasi sana kung naitalo ng FEU and ADU, may malaking chance na may FEU-UST uli sa championship… ang nangyari kasi ngaun ADU vs ADMU at FEU vs UST, ang panalo sa dalawang laban ang may papasok sa championship round, sayang talaga pero adamson deserve the championship also… what they did yesterday was spectacular, they never gave up which is why they won the last three sets… galing… sana maipanalo uli ng favorite team ko ang laban nila on wednesday, anyway twice to beat sila…Go FEU, at kung sakali naman na maipanalo nila i hope they can beat ADU na…hehehe

wednesday fight na ng UST vs FEU…i believe it is a good game..

Im from UST..

one Observation…
UST is not playing the usual UST game..
they always look so lifeless..
no energy..(except the AdU vs UST game)

one opinion..i think they must put some varieties in their attacks…they are very predictable…since Bernal and balse lng ang laging pumapalo…mas maganda cgro kng hndi puro si bernal lng ang sinesetan …para ndi predicted ng mga blockers ng kalaban…unlike the USt Adu game…nagbabalasa ng set si tan…pinapapalo niya lahat and the attacks were coming from different sides of the court…hindi lng lagi sa side ni bernal…dapat siguro maiprove un..and…

sana naman…lagyan nila ng energy…since almost all their fans are expecting them to do good…like what they did in the finals of v-league against SSC-R…good fight tlga…kc ndi matamlay…but now…sa tingin ko…kung ipagpapatuloy nilang ganyan ang paglalaro…cgro nga it is Adu’s and FEU’s turn to be the champion..hopefully, they will do their best dito sa next game nila sa FEU…

anyway…I commend FEU for winning thrice against us…mukang sbrang naghihiganti kau ah..hehe..both of the teams were really good…uhmm..maybe it is just the matter of how the teams want the title more than the other…i mean…the one who is more determined…but i know…UST will bounce off..since they are very unexpected…

being a UST fan…i felt so sad…so sad na tlgang nasira ung mood ko for the rest of the day…

anyhow,that’s what game is all about…di nmn laging isang team nlng db…

all the teams gave their best shots…efforts…die for the ball…and it’s not so easy to be a player….lalo na kng lahat ng tao, nakatuon sa’yo…that’s an added pressure..well, lahat sila naghanda and they all deserve to win…and we all know that there’s always a reason for everything…and i honestly believe na there’s areason kung bakit di ngyon mapupunta sa uste ang tropeyo…

uaap volleyball’s soon toend…very soon…and guess what volleyball fanatics??? v-league is upcoming…so there’s still the big chance for use na mkabawi..and ateneo as well…muntik narin adamson dun ha…

i’ve enjoyed watching the games this day….although talo nga ang paboritong team ng nakararami…for me…nothing to lose…u’ve done a great job…mas masakit ung,u know u can do something to fight pero hindi mo nagawa…. pero kanina…masaya parin ako kse’ napakita ng uste na hindi sila bibigay basta-basta…medyo late na nga lang for them to recover pero…ang mahalaga…U guys fought!!!
