Maalis man o hindi. I believe in volleyball, no one is indispensable. Lahat pwedeng mapalitan. When somebody good can no longer stay. Someone will eventually step up. In case of UST, sobrang daming potentials jan. Sa pag-alis nga lang ni Maizo, may instant Torrijos. Roces - Mance.

And I believe marami pang bala si Coach August. Anjan si Benedicto, Del Rosario, Curato (I think can do more in the offense). They will have their right time in the league. Plus may nawala na babalik in the next competition.

Ang magiging problema lang siguro yung perfect combination. Yung click six. Minsan kasi may magagaling na players hindi naman nagje-jell. Naalala ko tuloy ang Lyceum sa V-League. Carillo, Enriquez and Boto are good players but they do not jell. Thus losing all games. Wala ata silang naipanalo (correct me if I am wrong).

Sabi nga ni Coach Sta. Maria it took 10 big years for UST to get back and be the champions once again. Whoa!!! And the credit goes to the players who have worked hard. Practiced until they finally get the hang of how other teammates play. And be solidified by their familiarity with each other.

I’m trying to assess the competition objectively and in the best way I can. I think the only way FEU will go to the final is if UST falls to third place thereby facing Adamson on the semi finals…which is very much unlikely because even if UST looses (which i still honestly doubt) on the 27th they will still hold second place due to number of sets won.

So if UST will be ranked second, FEU will face Adamson and judging from the two games they have faced each other…the lucky toss will go to Adamson (statistically speaking).

-Hi, last year may intercollegiate league na kasabay ng Vleague 1st conference. It was held at RTU Gym. Adu won the championship against UST. Jackie So was the MVP. past 10:30 PM na natapos yung championship game na yun. madami kasing games in a day. before yung championship match naglaro na din ang UST and ADU against other teams na kasali on the same day. and then next day, ADU din kalaban ng UST sa Vleague 1st conference. Talo din UST dun. We thought that fatigue kicked in kaya natalo ng back-to-back ang ust against Adu.

i admit that i am a solid fan of the Lady tigresses, but as i watched their previous game especially their match to Adu and FEU, i could say that they still need more improvements especially in their reception and defense area. no doubt that they are really solid when it comes to their offense, but obviously that wouldn’t be enough in order for them to make it to the finals. infairness to Adu and FEU, they really improved a lot, so i think it would be a great battle between this three teams! though i am still hoping that DLSU could make it for the final four!eheheheh

Lasallista haven’t you watched season 69? cause i know adu beat ust last season kaso me twice to beat advantage ang ust kaya me rubber match between the two teams tapos tinalo ng ust ang adu dun sa match na yun kaya third place lang ang adu… i am a ust fan but i have to agree na sobrang nag-improve ang adu ngayon and i think they are the top contender for ust this season. and kasi everytime ust and adu meets, it is for sure na exciting match yun… pero i not taking feu out of the race. let’s just wait and see.

talaga yung kanilang floor defense sa katauhan ni lizlee ann gata at wala talagang pinapabagsak na bola, mayroon pa silang unstoppable quick hitters na sina rissa jane laguilles at jackie so, hindi rin magpapahuli sina segodine at gustilo na dalawa rin sa mga power-hitters ng adamson.Syempre hindi gagana ang offense ng adamson kung wala si serafica na league’s number 1 setter na ka tandem ni angela benting na grabe kung pumalo dahil mabilis ang speed ng bola kapag siya ang pumapalo..Kaya ngayon masasabi ko na adamson really improved so much in terms of their defense

i don’t think the Lady Falcons could make it to the finals, given the fact that they defeated FEU twice…, if ever AdU and UST tied up for the #1 spot, i’m sure that the AdU would eventually ended up in 2nd place, after being defeated by UST on their do-or-die face-off. so if that happens, and i guess it would, AdU would face FEU, despite of the twice-to-beat advantage, i don’t think they’re good enough to easily erradicate FEU from moving into the finals! it would be a great volleyball season if UST and FEU met in the championship round!

UST is beatable and it has been proven. If we will base it on individual raw talent, no team comes close to them. Volleyball is a team sport. Individual talent doesn’t count if you will not utilize them well as a team. Adamson is strong because of their teamwork. Adamson has quick hitters, but they are lacking in height (compare to UST standard) and in their vertical leap. What makes them strong is their teamwork. You are like playing against 9 players; almost all of the corners are covered.
The same with FEU they have good coaching staff. Bannered by Daquis- one of the best players of the country today (by skills) although suffering from her injury. FEU is a strong team because of their teamwork.

UST is the standard in volleyball today. If we will set aside stats and based it in individual skills; 8-14 players from the UST are in the top 15 (UAAP only). 3 players are only exposed and they are not the top 3 in terms of statistics. Charo Soriano is a talented player. But even the other bench players of UST are better in terms of individual skills (not by stats). Like Cu, she has an edge in leaping ability and quickness. Even their rookie Curato (libero) has exceptional skills. Denise is a high school standout and was an original attacker before she was trained to be a setter. If their players will be scattered to different teams they will be the main scorer. If you know how well their training camp is, you will be surprise how talented their players are, up to their last bench player. Give credits to their coaching staff, team mgr. Fr. De Sagon, trainers, all the men and women behind the program. Their program and recruitment is top of the line.

We are thankful for the exposure of the sports. If this will continue and the other schools will emulate the program and recruitment of the UST, we will be a force to reckon with in Southeast Asia. There are a lot of potentials in the country waiting to be discovered.

u know guys, ung adu if u would look closely, benting isn’t really a very good player. Di nga sya ganun kagaling sa defense unlike bernal, she has improved, di ba nga #1 sa reception ang uste. ung mga quickhitters naman ng adu like so and laguilles can’t even do a running spike unlike mj balse. sa pagset naman, look at rhea, i mean she’s just a first year pero #3 sya sa setting, talo pa c karla ng admu.
sa feu naman, si semana yes magaling pero si daquis, cafranca di naman maxado, di ba.
personally i think it’s ust vs feu parin.
sana nga balik na sina mabbayad at maizo, i think maizo will be the next balse, she’s good, i think she can have her own move like the running spike pero sa left side nga lang kc sya’y lefty.

On the first post of this post page i said it may not be FEU’s prime yet…guess I’m wrong hehehe…my bad…but i was right in saying they can surely give UST a run for their money…

I guess it will be Adamson vs. either La Salle/ADMU and UST vs. FEU in the semifinals hehehe.

Does anyone know how to calculate the scoring points here? If ever UST will defeat Adamson on the last day of the eliminations, will the latter still be on top? I hope it will be a five setter again so they can remain at the top post.

I can’t understand ust’s game kanina. Tan was reinstated as the primary setter, pero lahat ng sets niya kay Bernal/Tabaquero (hindi ba siya pinagalitan ni Coach August for this?!?) And Tabaquero wasn’t really helping as 50% of her attacks are outside. Although she scored a lot from drop balls until FEU read that.

Si Balse, never mind. She was checked, that’s the reality. Automatic triple block when FEU knew she was coming. No more quick hits. At kung pumasok man yun, Tagana’s and Semana’s digs are just excellent in that game. I’m sure mabubuhay pa rin yung bola.

the league is over when UST says its over..FEU may have won again but its not the end of the line yet..FEU did a great job defending UST’s offense and that made the difference in the match..having said that, i don’t take anything away from my team because the fire may have subsided during that game but i believe it hasn’t burned out..once it rekindles, they will be back on top..the championship match is still far ahead and there are so many possibilities..the labryinth wall of UST will not easily succumb for it will stand strong amidst its humble defeat..that was not the championship match yet so there’s no need for extravant celebration…through thick and thin,GO USTE!!!..
