I’ve never noticed before the Active White Skin Whitening Solutions commercial ads being played on Studio23 when UAAP games are televised. Someone emailed me about this and as expected, the ads are uploaded on YouTube. Apparently, Active White is one of the many sponsors of the Shakey’s V-League and guess who they got as the model for their skin whitening commercial ad…
No, not Charo Soriano of Ateneo. Charo can be the next Sports Illustrated cover model but not so much for Active White. It’s no other than Rachel Anne Daquis of FEU Women’s Volleyball Team. With her in the commercial are basketball superstars Chris Tiu (Eskinol’s Sikreto ng mga Gwapo model) and Jai Reyes of Ateneo de Manila. See for yourself:
So isn’t she the fairest of them all? Being a direct competitor of MET Tathione (another glutathione product which originated from Japan I believe), at least Active White has a more decent tagline: Be the fairest of them all. Good thing they did not go for “Sikreto ng mga volleyball players“. I bet for most volleyball fans, seeing Rachel Daquis in a skin whitening commercial is more attention-grabbing than Pauleen Luna asking you, “Have you MET?“. Umm, right guys? Many Filipinos are so obsessed with getting fairer skin. It’s part of our Pinoy culture I suppose. That’s why skin whitening products like Active White Glutathione Capsules along with the rest of them will most likely be a hit in the market as a new means of getting fairer skin. People nowadays are getting more health conscious. So most people would rather swallow a whitening pill as if taking vitamins rather than rubbing external solutions or papaya soap on their sensitive skin. Glutathione - this seems to be the breakthrough discovery for skin whitening today.
But the so called “power of glutathione” is really more than just having skin as fair as Rachel Anne Daquis. These skin whitening TV commercials should also emphasize its more beneficial property as a toxic waste neutralizer that detoxifies the body and improves your immune system.
(How the f^ck! did I end up talking about skin whitening!) Let’s go back to the subject of volleyball. So who do you think will be the next volleyball player-slash-commercial model? And what TV commercial ad will that be? (Go on!! Let’s see how creative you guys are).

i dont think naman na she’s so maganda… she’s chinita na di masyadon bagay sa iang facial features na, and he face just looks a little weird. but great body and nice skin. i guess the appeal comes from being such a great player. just an opinion
