1. first of all it was ging who was player of the game
2. rhea did start the game but that is not to say that coach august has changed his starting lineup for good. it’s just one game.
3. denise is sick so cut the girl some slack.

i agree. tan is charming and all but her game is off. dimaculangan has been playing well. specially when you caught their game vs ateneo. tan’s setting has been way off. i hope she finds her groove soon.

hay there: thank you. i’ve nothing against denise. she’s really improved a lot and i’m proud of the way she handled all the criticisms during her rookie year. she’s had some amazing games and though she still lacks consistency she’s been there to carry ust during the crucial matches. it’s just sad how some people can be such idiots when it comes to the playing time and exposure being given to rhea and denise.

Hmm, I think that both Rhea and Denise are good setters.

It’s just that Rhea is the one in form right now, that is why Coach August is giving her the playing time.

That doesn’t take anything away from Denise. She just happens to not be in as good form as Rhea.

Regardless, I also think that people in this blog, like bryan, are just expressing their own opinions on the matter.

And it’s sad if people expressing their opinions get berated for it.

I see no need to call people “idiots” just because they happen to have different opinions than my own.

of course we can. plus, i’m all for UST WVT so, i love both tan and dimaculangan. i’ve seen tan play during her high school days and she’s more of a hitter than a setter, so i give her credit for adjusting to a new role. it’s just that, as i’ve said, she hasn’t found her game for this season.

i hope she does when they resume action on January 9.

^denise tan was never taken for granted by the coach. she’s always part of the starting line up as the setter. UST have a lot of games to play and I’m sure that Denise can play a lot.
if she’s being taken for granted, wala na sana cyang playing time. If you’re talking about the game against UE, she wasn’t feeling well that day, she didn’t even attend the training before the game day coz she was sick.

bew there’s no question that denise has proven herself. her improvement since her rookie year has been no less than impressive. hats off to her. but i believe that in the short time rhea has been in the lineup she has already proven her worth to the team. ust benefits from her style of play coz she varies her sets and that adds another dimension to ust’s game. So i don’t think anyone can say that rhea’s talent is sabi sabi lang. She’s even got an mvp, best setter,and best server award to back her up.

roces graduated already that’s why she is not part of the line up. it’s either that or she’s out of playing years. im not really sure.

to bew: nobody in here doesn’t trust tan’s capability. she wouldnt be a starter or part of the line up for that matter if she is not capable of delivering in times of need. however, you might also want to give dimaculangan credit for performing when their starting setter’s game is off. and you are right, more often than not setting is crucial in every volleyball game. setters are like point guards in basketball, they set up the play so when they mess up, any play that they set won’t be converted to any point. tan is a great player nobody in here says otherwise it’s just that her game is off because probably she is not feeling well, so when the starting setter is not doing well like tan a 2nd string setter like dimaculangan will come to play, and that is one way to define TEAM GAME. you play well with or without you’re best player on the court. becuase best players dont win games, it’s the whole team that does.

the uaap gave denise the best setter award last season and that seemed to be enough recognition for you for denise’s talent. it was also the uaap that gave rhea her awards so i don’t know why you suddenly have no “pake” as you so eloquently put it.

Suzanne Roces was a mainstay for UE for a long time in the UAAP beforeshe graduated.

So she can no longer play in the UAAP due to eligibility constraints.

However, UST got her as its guest player for the V-League.

On a different note, I wonder what Angeli Tabaquero did during the holidays?

USTers: thank you for saying that. yun nga ang problema sa ibang tao minsan. They’re only supporting one player which is okay kaso sometimes they go overboard and hate on the other players na teammate naman ng favorite nila.just doesn’t make sense to me since i support the entire team.ok lang sakin if others will only support one or two players from ust.they don’t have to be a fan of the team pero walang siraan at laitan ng ibang players kung di nila type.that’s NOT cool.

Hey there, I’ve been reading almost all ur commments about the setters of UST. It’s true dat Tan’s sets r off lately and d main reason is she’s a bit out of shape. Rhea is in better form dats y she’s been playing better. The important thing is UST is winning and showing their dominance. We must give credit to their coach 4 adjusting his players line-up.
