They swept both conferences this year, so what can you say? They are truly the best team in the land right now

Great photo of Denise Patricia Tan, Maria Angeli Tabaquero, Joanna Marie Torrijos and Gian Carla Benedicto, all in one shot. They are the prettiest in the UST squad.

It looked like a great game, going to three(3) sets and it would be good watching the replay of it.

I kinda wish that Angeli would be the one to win the MVP award, but Venus was quite superb during the series and she deserves it. Specially since she missed out on the Conference MVP award which went to Kesinee.

The last two games showed the play that I’ve been wanting from UST. Everything starts at the reception…They had good ground defense…I like them much if they’re agile…hope they will train more on agility/ground defense and good setting(nakakapalo si Bernal ng maganda pag maganda ang set). Their blocks and attacks…no questions asked(galing na). Basta they need to do more on ground defense and Tan’s/Dimaculangan Sets for UAAP and the next conferences in V-league. LOve you UST.

CONGRATS USTE! Weeeeeee! One piece of advice though for SSC-R… don’t swim in bitterness. It would have been a better picture if you guys tried to maintain your composure. A game is a game. Somebody really has to accept defeat. You could have at least tried to smile when you received that trophy. There’s nothing to be ashamed of. You did well, only UST played better.

Go USTE!!!… I’ve been watching the Shakey’s V-League every afternoon, everyday on NBN 4. It’s such a great loss for me because I wasn’t able to watch game 3. I think UST really deserved the win because everyone contributed in the game… They believed in the power of being Pinoy at heart — hindi nila kinailangan ng import. Super galing!!

No need really for us fans to continue to snipe at each other. Either to jeer at the import of SSC-R and to smugly note that UST is all-Pinay or to jeer at the shortcomings of UST as opposed to SSC-R.

Nothing will change the outcome, which was a win for UST.

Making the other team’s fans feel bad will not make any difference whatsoever.

So let us just congratulate both teams for a great game, a great series and a great conference.

Congratulations to UST for sweeping the two conferences of the Shakey’s V-League this year. They proved that they are indeed the best team in the land.

1) Denise Patricia Tan, who played one of her best games during Game 3 of the Finals, when it mattered the most. She is the key to the UST offense
2) Maria Angeli Tabaquero for her continued excellence in all facets of the game. To me, she is the MVP of the UST Tigresses. And she is so pretty, too
3) Joanna Marie Torrijos, for being able to contribute immediately off the bench whenever she is called upon to do so
4) Gian Carla Benedicto for being so photogenic, hehehe…

Congratulation also to the SSC-R Lady Stags! You girls played a heck of a game, a heck of a series and a heck of a conference. There is nothing to be ashamed about your performances at all.

I know that it is a bitter pill to swallow, but there is still next year.

Special congratulations to:
1) Laurence Ann Latigay, she captianed her team to the finals and almost willed her team to victory
2) Rysabelle Devanadera, who was her calm and focused self all throughout the tournament. In my mind, she is probably the best attacker in the team
3) Mary Jane Pepito, my favourite player in the entire tournament, by far. Her sustained and consistently incredible play at Libero is one of the main reasons that SSC-R got this far. She is, for me, the best Libero in women’s volleyball at this time. She really shined this conference and the future is just so bright for this super cute girl. Keep you head up, sweetie. You, of all people, have nothing at all to be sad about

What a great tournament. We’ll be looking forward to the Shakey’s V-League next year.

For now, on to the UAAP Women’s Volleyball tournament where, you’ll have to say, UST is the prohibitive favourite to claim back-to-back UAAP championships.

Honestly, I see no one on the horizon who can even seriously challenge them.
