Congratulations to coach Sherwin Malonzo and to her beautiful wife Astrid Uy-Malonzo. They have finally tied the knot on the seventh of July, 2007. Yup, that’s lucky number 777. At least, there will be no excuse for either of them not to remember their wedding anniversary. The Latino themed wedding took place at the Parish of Our Lady of the Abandoned in Marikina City.

Coach Sherwin has been both a player and coach for the Ateneo de Manila Volleyball Team. So that’s why almost half of the guests were volleyball players. It was a very solemn and lovely evening. Congrats to the newlyweds once again.

But hey, I’m here not to talk about the wedding. It’s the proposal (a year ago during Valentine’s Day I think) that led to the wedding that’s interesting. Just see for yourself.

From what I heard from a very reliable source, just days before the planned proposal, the couple had a serious fight. Hmmm, so that’s why A took about 10 seconds before she said yes. Nevertheless, it was a very creative and romantic wedding proposal done in front of the Shakey’s V-League audience with TV coverage. Sweet!

NOTE: Because of the YouTube video, a correspondent from ABS-CBN contacted coach Sherwin. And guess what, the couple got interviewed in the show Rated K hosted by Korina Sanchez.
