It was already the start of the second set between UST and Lyceum when I arrived at The Arena. As expected, the crowd had doubled as we’re now at the Semi Finals Round of the Shakey’s V-League. UST won the first set at 29-19.

All die-hard fans of Suzanne Roces who played for Adamson during the elimination round, were now cheering for the Lady Tigers. UST had acquired Roces to play for them as a guest player. Having 9 national players plus Roces should give UST a huge advantage. The Tigers won the second set at 25-18.
Lyceum gave all they’ve got as they start the third set strong. They relied on #7 Cristina Salak who was able to block Roces and UST’s open spiker Venus Bernal #12 from time to time. Lyceum seemed to have built up momentum as #13 Bevery Boto added some more points. Boto would raise both her hands (saying “We’re No.1″) and pose for the crowd every time she made a kill. Apparently, this annoyed the crowd as she got booed. She went berserk again after making a down the line spike. The crowd went wild. It was now 21 all.

Crowd favorite #12 Maria Angeli Tabaquero of UST gave her team the lead at 23-22 after successfully making an open spike attack. Roces made an in-your-face down the line running spike to give UST the matchpoint. Then a service reception error by #15 Joana Marie Dela Pena ended the game at 25-23.
UST won in 3 exciting sets against Lyceum: 25-19; 25-18; 25-23.

wow!….the shakeys final match between UST and San Seabastian was action packed…bravo to the tigress…exciting rallies between the 2 teams…

oh my god! we just watched the game for this day! and whoah. suzanne is indeed a good one. the UST Volleyball team is really good :)) though they didn’t won the game. still, nice game for us, first-time-watchers.

I always watch the games whenever UST is playing most especially in volleyball. I like to see them playing with their collaboration with their peers and their flexible movements. The best talaga kayo. Sa lahat ng nakita so far ang UST volleyball players ang matibay sa defensa at ofense.
